Had my form 1 get kicked for “incorrect model number” even though I put exactly what was on the gun… Regardless curious what the wait times are like on resubmitted forms. I know they are historically quicker but wasn’t sure what to expect. |

I was going to submit mine as ap5 but someone had just posted a rejection with the correction being to use "mke ap5" so I did It was approved conditionally with the note that the model is AP5 and not mke ap5. They are consistently inconsistent |
| AI suggested sending an email to [email protected] with your old numbers and new numbers, telling them it was only rejected for an administrative error. |

I just did that. It was worth a shot. I also mentioned that others had received approvals recently for the same verbiage that my form was rejected for. Not sure if that matters to them, but I figured it was worth mentioning. |

My AP5 was approved a couple years ago with just the model AP5. I did use the full MKE name for the manufacturer. I was denied a few years ago for a incomplete serial # for a AR stripped lower. It was HEP12345 and I just put 12345 based on a precious approved F1. I also included a nice closeup pic of the full serial # and they could have fixed it or something. But no soup for me. That was a $200 oops. I was approved though in like 14 days both times. I am actually voiding 2 of my approved F1's from a couple years ago that I didnt "make" and refiling with a new trust and 0$ stamp. The $400 in refunds should be nice as well. |

Resubmitted on January 3rd and received approval about 3 weeks later. Didn't feel like an accelerated process, and I doubt they recognized any relationship between the two submissions. |

I had a Brownells 10/22 SBR form rejected because I didn’t include BRN as part of the serial number. Got the “disapproved” notice on 7/26, resubmitted it and another AR15 receiver on 7/27, got both approvals back on 8/1. Maybe they’re getting caught up or I just got lucky 🤷♂️ Either way, I’m happy with that turnaround time! 😎 |

I just received a disapproval a few minutes ago from a May 11th submission.... Reason for disapproval: "MFG ON FORM SHOULD BE ANDERSON" Form 1 was submitted as 'ANDERSON MFG' to match the actual stamped lower, and a photo of the receiver markings was provided.......so if I resubmit using 'ANDERSON' there is an equally high chance of disapproval for not matching the receiver. FATF ETA - I sorted this out and what a mess. It took me a while to realize that the disapproved form field 4A did not match what I submitted. The manufacturer had been removed (confirmed against the submitted form) which is why the 'incomplete form' disapproval... I emailed IPB and props to them for a quick response. They said this was disapproved due to errors on both sides - me submitting with 'ANDERSON MFG' instead of 'ANDERSON MANUFACTURING' and then on the ATF side when clearing out of pending research the text in 4a was replaced. I replied to clarify the manufacturer as I thought the receiver markings had to match exactly what was submitted and was told no, to only use the dropdown and select the manufacturer even if not an exact match to the markings. In short, the dropdown that I have repeatedly read to not use is now supposed to be a source of truth per the ATF.... |
