| I’m in the same boat. I was all in on the 635r, but after seeing some YouTube footage along side the 225 and 335 I’m thinking about waiting for the 50mm 650r that is coming out early next year. In the mean time I’m really tempted to grab a $600 Zulus 5-20 that I can move to my 10/22 when the 650 becomes available. |

It has made my Ruger 22 charger the most fun gun to shoot. 1 shot zero, put in 22 CCI standard velocity 40gr into the ballistic app, upload it to the scope, laze the target and the reticle moves to where you need to hit. It is stupid fun and completely wows new shooters. The Starvis sensor and IR illuminator are no slouches either, night shooting is a hoot with it out to 100yds easy. |

Kinda cool they sell delete caps for the ir which I will need during deer season here in Iowa to stay legal. |

I have all three of them the 256, 384 and 640. Im spoiled now by having range finder and ballistic calc. I brought the TNC335R to the East Coast Night Shoot and was able to see a deer 600 yards away. In thermal I could tell it was deer like based on movement and behavior but switched to digital to see and ID that it was a deer. I could even see it had antlers. Here is a coyote using the TNC335R and Hydra HS225. I find this faster than any other system especially with the onboard LRF and ballistic calculator. I was able to hit 700 yards easily with my 20" Hellion. |

They dont have one for the bigger TNC335R and TNC635R. |

If you are comparing them at the same magnification then yes. Like if you digital zoom to 3x on the 635, it won’t look as good as the 335R at 2.5x base mag. I don’t know of a 650 ThermNight. They are coming out with a 650 Hydra but that is just a thermal sight. No LRF, ballistic calculator or digital day/night. |
| The zulus 520lrf is 600 bucks. Kinda hard to go wrong. The onboard ir illum looks pretty good, but a good coyote cannon or something would make it legit out to some distance. Seen vids of guys making 6-7-800 yard shots during the day with the lrf and ballistic app. |

I went ahead and got one ( DNT thermnight) and so far I like it. I will say in full disclosure that this is my first thermal / NV and have no experience with anything to compare it to. That being said, I like it and look forward to waging war on the racoons and opossums that are living off of my deer feeders. I haven't tried out the ballistic calculator yet but look forward to learning how. |

After being out last night with a agm 384 rattler on one gun and the zulus 5-20lrf on another I’m thinking having them together would be awesome. Finding animals is tuff with just the night vision unless they look at you and you see the eye shine. Once you see um ID is way better with night vision then atleast lower power thermal. You are seeing an image of the actual animal instead of the heat signature. Gotta have thermal for spotting the bastards though. I’d spot them with the thermal and switch guns and loose the bastards. The Picture in Picture function with the thermnight would be awesome. No more worries about shooting someone’s dog or cat. |

The Starvis sensor and IR illuminator are no slouches either, night shooting is a hoot with it out to 100yds easy. just got my 3-12 and had the same experience. changed a 10/22 I was bored with, into my new favorite plinker. as it is now, its a glorified toy, but seemingly has some potential. so much so, I'm thinking about getting a second one for another rifle that has more "real" hunting capability. sub sonic hits on 10x10 targets at 151yards at night is just good clean American fun. There is a video on the tube where a guy had the 225 and the 635 and the damn 225 unit looked damn near as good as the 635. I would be buying the 225 yesterday, but I’m looking at using it as a clip on for a few guns and possibly a helmet mount so the 3x ain’t gonna work. |

Texas Plinking just did a good video on all three Hydras. I ordered the Hydra 635 from Custom Night Vision, it's already $200ish off and then add DNT10 for an extra 10%. |

The DNT hydra HS325 384x288 looks to be a good buy, agm rattler TS35-384 V2 specs at rattler TS35-384 V1 prices. Waiting to see what people think of it before I consider buying one or referring one to a friend who will be in the market soon. |

Just got a 635 in today. So far looks good I will get it back out tonight. If what I’m thinking is gonna work works this thing is gonna be money. Sounds like the DNT bolt spacing on 2 holes is the same as the eotech magnifier and votex from the said YouTube video. I Ordered a flip to side magnifier mount that has a quick disco dovetail shoe so can scan with it then slip it into the mount kinda like the new nopix units. Also hoping the dovetail shoe allows me to mount it to a knockoff kvc bridge so I can use it will my pvs14. If both those things work out I’m sold on this bad boy. |

| I messed with mine some more today and was pretty impressed. Just got it out in the dark and I can say I’m thoroughly impressed. Picked up critters everywhere, It’s even good at 6x zoom. Can’t wait to get it in front of the 1-6, bet it looks even better zooming in on that nice high res screen. Definitely worth the 1799 I paid for it. |

Adm-170 pattern mounts will work with the hydra. I have a 325. I compared it next to a gen 1 rh25. Aside from size and weight, it doesn’t give much up for the price point. Rh25 is a little more crisp and clear obviously. Menu is way easier to navigate. App seems responsive. The video on my hydra has some slight vertical lines that don’t really seem to interfere with function, just something i noticed. I had mine out in -30c and performance dropped a touch compared to the rh25. Once it warmed up it was right on pace. Zeroing is pretty easy. Reticles are decent. Two ffp. I suspect one in mrad one in moa. The rest are sfp. |
| Looks like DNT is coming out with a handheld thermal scanner with a built-in LRF called the Hound. This is what I would be interested in most, I have a Hogster Vibe and a Super Yoter 50 but neither have a LRF, the Hound with be a great addition to my line up. |

| Ya I feel that could be a mistake for them. Sounds like with how well their ballistic calc works it would be cool to have a shooting solution pop up in mil/moa on the screen in clip on mode. Unless they are doing bino’s it seems easier to use a product they already have in production and add the small lrf they have on the thermnight. |

Just ordered a Zulus LRF for my ratting air rifle, but saw that they released a Hydra version of it this week. Interesting. Will play with the Zulus to see how it works on the air rifle, but really think the 640 core mini thermal version might be in my future. FWIW - they do have a Hydra with a LRF now.  That said, the Mars Mini seems more interesting to me. The Hydra LRF can be purchased with 50mm lens, but weighs 18.2 oz (and has a 50hz refresh rate). The Mars Mini with a 25mm lens (they also sell it with a 19mm lens) is weighing in under 7oz and has a 60hz refresh rate. Plus at least 1 review mentioned they are planning other size lenses for it (but I kind of suspect a 50mm would be to big to not interfere with the LRF). |
