I saw a while back that Atlantic Firearms and AIM were selling WW2 Carbines from various makers. Maybe some other gun dealers were also selling them but these were the only 2 I got emails from. Prices were in the high $1200’s. I assume that since they were suddenly available at the same time they were from the same source. I was considering putting one on layaway at Atlantic but slipped my mind then when I went back they were sold out. Just curious, what was the story of these guns? Where and why did they come from? I’m also kind of curious of the condition they were in did anyone happen to buy one? |
Just make sure "Blue Sky" isn't stamped on the barrel.  They were an importer that stamped all the carbines on the barrel. Their stamping machine made some of the bores oval rather than round.  |

I got a Postal Meter from AIM. It looks really nice im guessing the stock is a USGI replacement whenever it got refurbished? There's no markings inside or out. All the internal parts are all from IBM, Winchester, Underwood, and Inland. I also havent shot mine yet. I've never owned a M1 Carbine, is it typical for the bolts to have some play/slop on a empty chamber? I can wiggle the bolt around with my finger from the magwell. With a mag in the slop isnt bad.

If it headspaces then it’s good. I think it’d be a miracle to wear one out of headspace tolerance, unless the bolt was swapped and not checked. I bet it doesn’t jiggle on a live round, granted the ejector should be taking out the slop then. Having the secondary sellers hand picking their guns sounds a lot lot lot better than the trustworthiness of RTI. RTI just strike me as unscrupulous sellers that abuse the public. They even look shifty in videos. Yea, I am not being nice but they strike me as lower than used car salesmen. Based on youtube videos of the products they foist on milsurp buyers that are far from meeting descriptions I form my opinion. |
The only hyphenated names I like are cartridge names......30-06, 30-40, 38-55 etc.

FYI: Atlantic Firearms- Saginaw M1 Carbine They also have Underwood, and National Postal Meter for similar prices. I am in a ban state, so no personal experience with them.
