OP, you do know they don't go bad or wear out.  You can use them over and over for years.  When I got my M1s 20 years ago I asked about clips and some guys told me they'd been using the same two clips at matches for 20 years.

What you buy today will be cheaper than 5 or 10 years from now.  

If you can still buy the surplus ammo from the CMP that comes in the spam cans it's in clips/bandoleers you'd have plenty from just one can.
How you live your life is important. Just be sure the memory of how you died doesn't overshadow the tales of how you lived your life.

Truth. I generally got Garand clips from one of the sellers st the Market Hall gun show.

I didn't need any more, but a seller at the recent gun show had about a dozen for $2 each.  I looked them over and picked out 2 WWII ones (out of mostly post-war Borg Warners).  One International Silver and one Borg Warner (just B-W vs post-war BR-W).

As a coda to this thread:

I spoke to the people at Aggressive Engineering, and they said they are trying to get their stamp press back up so they can make more clips. I don’t know if he was just blowing smoke, but he seemed sincere.

Since the CMP will be making new Garands, it stands to reason that they will need clips, but who knows?

It would be sweet if Lake City did M2 in clips.

At one time back in the 80's, my uncle was probably the only person in the United States with over 2 million M1 Clips. He was a Cal NG armorer for a SoCal unit and he was ordered to dispose of all of the m1 clips to the scrap yard. Also, firing pins and extractors, along with bolts new in wrap.

He stuffed his Ford van for two days with all of it and he sold his largest batch of m1 clips to Numrich and Sarco at about 25 cents each.


Today, he is 80 and he has maybe 500 left from that large batch he had.

Still has bags of extractors and firing pins.

I now have a bag of 5000 m1/m14 extractors that I keep.

Sherluk has M1 clips in stock, look under M1 Garand and scroll down. Not exactly cheap but they have them.
