A few years ago Frankford released the X-10 press. Supposedly had lots of features at a low price point. Many of the initial reviews were negative, complaints about poor quality, timing issues, parts breaking, poor customer service, etc. I looked on Midway USA, and most of the reviews are old. Anyone got recent experience with this press? Looks like it hasn’t done well in the marketplace and Dillon is still the standard. By the way, I am very happy with my 550 and don’t have any intentions to switch to the X-10, just curious what others have experienced. Thanks |

I've been looking at it too. Here are a few of my concerns. What would happen if they discontinue production of the press? Would we still be able to get spare parts? I doubt it. How is frankford's customer service? I can't see them being as good as Dillon, Hornady or RCBS. In my experience, those guys will send out spare parts with no questions asked. Lastly, if I remember correctly this press is made in China or Taiwan. |

I honestly went back and forth before i bought my RL1100... I bought the 1100 mainly because my patience for effing about it at an all time low in my life. Well that, and a friend gave me all my caliber change overs, a couple of heads, and feed plates, which saved me a bunch of money. I dont think its a bad press, but like all new things, its having some teething issues. Some are being resolved by the community, some are being resolved by FA. I think if you like to tinker, its a fine press. And once you have it running reliably, its a bargain. Im in a few Failbook groups for this press, they are fairly active. Guys giving fixes, new parts, improvements, etc. |

X-10 set up correctly and with a few adjustments is well worth the price. Only stoppage I have is to resupply primers and once in a while a .380 case gets mixed in with the 9's and causes a case feed problem. If I had more bench area I would buy another for 45ACP. In my opinion this reloader is for a high volume pistol shooter. Have no idea how the X-10 work loading rifle cases. Mine will be used for 9mm only. I use the 550 for all other calibers that I reload. Caliber changeover on the 550 is simple and easy. I started reloading in the 60's on a Rock Chucker, moved up to a 550 and then to the X-10. Have been happy with all three.  |
