Anyone have a favorite M16 selector?  I'm trying to figure out my options for an Ambi selector.

Anyone used the Badger M16 selector?

Colt ambi if you can find one.  Right side selector is shorter to stay out of the way of the trigger finger.

My 6933 EPR came with their ambi selector, but semi auto only of course.

I'd like the LWRC full auto selector, but I can't find it on their website.

Arms Unlimited house brand one is probably least expensive. Griffin has one with reduced throw from typical 0-90-180.

Forward Controls Design offers 4 and all appear to be in stock ATM.

Schmid has one also, Brownells shows them in stock.

I bought a Schmid but never installed it, I really want to go with one from FCD.

I tried the Battle Arms Development selector and had issues with the L/H selector rubbing against the receiver.  It's a Colt M16A2, so I know the receiver is in spec.  I wound up with the KAC selector with the scalloped R/H selector and I love it:

Give the Radian F/A ambi a look

So this thread spurred me to get of my ass and install the Schmid. The right side of the barrel extends a bit further past the edge of the receiver (Aero) which results in the lever sticking out more than expected. Also the right side lever is the same length as the left side and might rub the hand of some right handed shooters.

Moving the lever through its positions the detents feel stiff but not gritty, it would probably feel better after a few hundred cycles.

I forgot about the Radian and I have a few of their semi selectors in other guns and like them. As much as I love the FCD stuff I don't like the idea of dealing with roll pins on their ASF-SF, the Radian might be the ticket for me.

We have the conventional 0-90-180, and a short throw (SAFE to SEMI is 50 degrees) 0-50-180, SAFE and AUTO are in the same position, with SEMI at 50 degrees

Roll pins have never failed, they're easy to install and remove but not without a punch and mallet, they have never backed out.

I like  the ones from Joe Bob Outfitters. They are inexpensive, have the choice of 60°/90° throws and the notched lever can be mounted on either side.

Just received three more of them last week from JBO. They are on sale for $15 each.

Oops!

You are correct. I read M16 as AR15 without realizing it was you (and your cool toys).

Also, I just saw it listed in active topics without realizing which forum it was in.

Sorry about that.

Sometimes I do the same thing from Active Topics.

ASF shown here with a q lever.  Q levers are offset /off center, when the safety is on FIRE/SEMI, the lever is closer to the buttstock.  If you have average male adult hands, your thumb can reach it and flip it between SAFE and SEMI without breaking your grip.

I just bought and installed the Griffin 0-60-120 selector. Love the short throw!

Normally I am not squeamish about working on my firearms but in this case, I wanted to ask (sorry if it's a dumb question). Should I remove my sear to change out the selector or just push the sear spring leg out of the way to swap?

I've always popped out the sear first.
