No firearms for me in Mexico so air guns it is. I just learned recently that they are legally limited to 4.5 mm  .I have had a .22 Mrod rifle and pistol down there for years, even invited the local police over for target practice a few times. Good thing I brought them back last year for new seals. Looks like it’s time for a new PCP air rifle in .177. Technology has improved over the last 15 years, what would be a good rifle to get these days or should I stick to the Marauder platform that I’m familiar with? Main purpose is target practice and trigger time. Sometimes I see a rat or mouse that needs to be dispatched. Sometimes a coyote needs to be convinced to go somewhere else and not eat my cat. Nothing in 4.5/.177 is going to be suitable for Coyote, IMO. Frankly, if you are already familiar with the MROD stick with that, they are a bit dated but still work fine. In .177 they are ridiculously quiet and with the right pellet or slug choice very effective on small and some medium sized game. |
