Had some time this week to finish a project that I've wanted to do since I first got my safe. So, I present my completely over engineered safe control system. This is a Zigbee/Arduino control system. Has temperature and humidity monitoring, vibration alerting, door state sensing as well as RGBW LED strip controls. Everything connects to my existing home automation system and alerting, state, and state history is viewed through the app. Installed the circuit in the back of the safe with power and the antenna on the outside. Thanks holosun for providing a perfectly sized enclosure.  Routed aluminum LED channel into the underside of the shelves and installed RGBW LED strips.  Also added a reed sensor on the door, with wiring hidden behind panels to turn lights on when the door is opened.  And yes, we have full RGB color, why, who knows, but it looks cool.  One of my goals was to still have good light when the safe is full, which I think is the case.  Controls/Alerts: Color is controlled through the app and we have visibility to the sensors.  As well as notifications.  Trend line is working well.  Overall, I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Will be interesting to see how the humidity trends over time and the lights are just handy. |

I like that set up. I would not mind fire, water or even moisture.. I bought a NVR, few POE switches, a 1000' roll of outdoor eth cable and I'm building a video monitoring system for most of my property. Right now I can see 3 sides of my house and out to the edge of my prop on those. I plan to add at least 2 Cams in the basement covering my safe. One as you walk up to it and the other as you walk away from it. Plus, there are two ways in and out, I'll cover those as well. My system has a AI, where you can set triggers/alerts for People, Pets and Vehicles. In the Basement, I'll just do people. Outside in certain areas, I'll do people or vehicles... |
