Has anyone been able to SBR an AP53? If so what do you need in terms of the stock, recoil rod, etc.? |

I just popped a G3 stock body onto the end cap that ships with the ap53. That’s the easy button. Attached File |

File Eform 1 for request for mfg of SBR and follow requirements, once you get the ok from Big Brother... remove the 2 screws inside the receiver cap and pull off the stupid plastic cap covering buffer system. Order a surplus HK G3 plastic stock, buttpad and the big screw and washer that goes inside it. Install said junk onto gun. Done. It's literally 3 screws and 1 push pin, if you can't figure it out then step away, put down your tools, surrender your man card and return to the kitchen.  If you want the uber cool but highly impractical MKE collapsing 33 stock atlantic has on sale then you either free the recoil rod from your endcap and round the tit that remains to set in new stock or order a new HK53 recoil spring assm from HKparts.com. |

I used one of these to screw an AR15 buffer tube to the rear of my AP53 and added a stock. https://hkparts.net/hk-rifle-smg-parts/hk91-g3-ptr-pdw-stock-adapter-ar-15-style/?query_id=80e65ab77711488bbd26d80b8ed06f7a It uses the AP53 end cap, spring and rod that came with the gun so basically no modification. Doesn’t look very HK but it works. Attached File I bought a different stock to use but haven’t swapped it out yet. |

Anybody know who makes a collar adapter for a suppressor mount besides kak? I know there was a fellow on the HK forums board that went by Kerensky, does anyone have his contact info or does he have a website? I think he sold a few here but the post dropped into archives Thanks James |

In order to use it, you would need a buffered carrier. The easiest way is to just follow the advice above and reuse the end cap with a replacement G3 stock. You can also buy a PTR or HK 93 stock which will have the internal buffer, but you would also need 53 length recoil rod. Do not use any MP5 stocks, unless you have a buffered carrier, which these do not. You will end up with roller dents if you do. |

| I knew my days of not owning an AP53 were coming to an end when they made me mod for this forum. Ordered one from Atlantic last night. I appreciate all the info you guys have posted, it made it easy to decide on getting one. I haven't owned any guns on this platform since 2010 when I had a Century 93. |

I used a ac unity side folder on my diy 53 300 blk, works just fine. I actually first had it on my rs mp5 clone, and got a proper choate stock for the RS. I do still have the factory hk33 stock that came with the kit I used to build the 53 if I ever want a solid stock on it. |
