I'm currently working on a couple conversions, and it's just simpler to weld up a trip and file it to shape than to figure out what AK parts fit what. From what I've learned, most AK parts fit most AKs. Some oddball counties/models are the exception, like the zastava guns with their thicker receivers and bulged trunnion. |

Euro AKM and AK-47 carriers will both work in Chinese Type 56 Rifles. The AK-47 carrier is "pattern correct", if that matters to you. I have used both an East German AKM carrier and a Bulgarian AK-47 carrier in a transferable Chinese stamped-receiver Type 56. Both carriers worked as expected. |

The thicker zastava guns are merely RPK trunnions and shortened RPK receivers. |

I don't care about "correct", just something that will work. Just looking for a spare and I see that one vendor is offering some Romanian carriers. |
