| Question for SAW guys or anyone else who've used these. I'm slowly accumulating accessories more the Lima 6 upper. I was loading up some belts and noticed that the surplus 100-round nutsacks will easily hold 110+ round belts and still have some room to spare. Are there any reliability or other issues with using them with belts over 100 rounds? |

I have an M249 post sample and a bunch of 100rd nut sacks. It will run with more than 100 in the sack, but I never completely jam the sack full, since the belt is hard to pull out if you do so. On my PKM with it's metal feed box, if it is filled to the top, the belt will get jammed and won't come out at all. It can also bend the feed pawl trying to pull the stuck belt. Tony Rumore Tromix |

Tony Rumore Tromix Thanks! I'll give it a try with 110 rounds once my upper gets here. |
| You might want to resign yourself to ACU ones. They seem to be the most plentiful and least expensive. |

I get all mine tribe tactical. I just checked...they have what you looking for in woodland. I prefer theirs because of Type 2 nutsac (I think its a better design for loading). You have to mod the lever at the hump to lock in, but its stupid simple (dremmel to trim a couple millimeters off each side of hump) |

If God didn't want them sheared, he would not have made them sheep.

I was kind of hoping 120 would work. That way I could load 1:5 tracer instead of 1:4 and use an even box of tracers so my tism doesn't get all riled up. |

I got a little over a dozen woodland and ACU 100-round and a few ACU 200-round nutsacks outside Fort Campbell a couple months ago, as well. Most of them were bought for $10, each, though I paid $25, each, for a couple of new in bag 200-round ones. |

| FYI, there is an ad currently (as of the time I'm typing) in the EE for 3 100-round woodland nutsacks. The seller, not me or connected to me in anyway, is asking $120, for the lot. |

I haven't seen them available for several months. The starter tabs are usually $2-5 each. Those are available and can also apparently be 3D printed. Tribe tactical make new sacks for $80-$100, IIRC. The new FN made ones seem to sell for $105 at the lowest. |

Are USGI soft nut sacks better than the Tribe Tactical or Raptor Tactical ones? I see NOS USGI ones available for about the same price or a little lower. |

Yes, you can overload the M249 and MK48 nutsacks. That play is designed into it so not to bind the belt. Consider you can jam 31 rds into a USGI 30 rd mag, but it won't seat with bolt forward. It needs that little bit of compression to seat fully loaded on a closed bolt. Try loading 3000-4000 rounds of 7.62mm into a minigun can. You then have to learn certain techniques to prevent binding and bullet locking. Difference between 100 rd M249/Mk46 5056mm and 100rd Mk48 7.62mm Attached File Attached File |

Would you suggest keeping them loaded to 100, or are you just saying to leave a little room (like load 115 instead of 125)? |

Personally, I would do 100 rd as its actually half of a 200 rd belt as I get issued. However, for anymore additional rounds I would suggest you test your assault pouches with your gun and ammo to see if they feed correctly. ie Test and verify. |
