I sent out for the letter. this should give me a good gauge on what the rifle is. I have been pondering what to do with this one. if it comes back what i think it is, it is getting restored by turnball. 1. engraving, it needs it. yes i know... lets see, but this one deserves it. 2. new wood french deluxe, for sure. the original wood is okay, but... kind of shot. 3. it will get all the metal worked over and redone and all the sights and internals redone. |

I have one too. Serial applied in 1902 but barrel made in 1901. Once the wood is off, it should have a two digit date stamp on the bottom of the barrel. |
