Just picked up a 1895 Trapper with the Magpul furniture. It came with skinner sights and the short (6”?) rail. I wanted the longer rail to mount a Leupold IER 1.5-4x28 Found a great deal at MWG Sounds like it was an OEM setup. https://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/F406530 I email asking the difference between this one and the much more expensive option they have. They said the more expensive one has an extra different size aperture. Came in looks perfect. Complete but no instructions |

That is a deal. Been wanting to replace my homemade rail. In the olden days we couldn’t source anything like this, so I made one. Puts the optic right where I want it. Attached File I’ll have to see if that linked rail is compatible with my GG, should be. Looks like the rear sight would need to come off, is there some attachment point I would need to replace the rear with? |

Also found some YouTube videos. Looks pretty easy. I like how the rear sight dovetail is used. Seems really solid. I’ll likely install the rail and scope over the weekend. |
