This can exists because a three shooters we work with wanted it to exist.  All three guys are Army Snipers, and one is on two Army shooting teams with one ISC (international sniper competition) win, the other two shot the ISC two times each, one of them won it once and placed second the other time.

This test I will admit I thought we would lose, and I didn't really care that we would, because the prices are so far apart and TBAC has a really great reputation in this product category.  The first 11 shots out of both cans were in this test.  I figured the TBAC Magnus S RR Hub would win because it was 1.75" diameter and .4" longer than the PRC-300.  There are just damn few cans in the category and the Area 419 has a reputation for being LOUD, so I wanted to compare against something actually performing and that meant TBAC pretty much by default because I wasn't going to put an aftermarket brake on a can not marketed in class and pretend that was ideal as a concept or something any normal customer was likely to do.  We considered the sico scythe, but the clockable brake is basically vaporware.  They seem to have made it to dick tease people into buying scythe cans, with no plan to actually sell it.

The TBAC can was the first TBAC Can I ever had the ability to shoot.  It is a really pretty can, and well built with a nice DLC finish I believe.

One of the ISC winners mentioned above is a beta tester for the PRC-300 and he tested muzzle control vs the area 419 first gen can and said the muzzle control is similar, while the PRC-300 is ear safe and the Area 419 is loud kind of like a cross between a suppressor and a brake shield.  He had been running the 419 because he has had some TBI's from IED's and the 419 takes the edge off enough to not bother him from a concussion perspective.  He mentioned lower sound is ideal- allowing a shooter to focus on wind calls, dope, and trace with less distraction.

I did shoot a better group with the TBAC than with my own can- something I can trace to firing one round with scope shadow- the Parallax on the Leupold got me I guess.  The eye box is pretty sensitive and I had both eyes open and was trying to ignore the laser and the shot broke center (reticle was perfect) but the laser shows I wasn't aimed center, which means parallax wasn't zeroed and shadow should not have been ignored. The scope has the 762CMRW reticle which means aiming with a dot which is already lame in my opinion.  I prefer a crosshair.  The differences in brakes between the two cans didn't make much difference in motion.  Maybe the PRC-300 returned a little more consistently, but otherwise the brake and both cans were pretty similar for muzzle motion.

The gladius shoots good (I'm the second owner of the rifle and it was a lot of BS work to get the KRG 700 stock to fit the Gladius.  My trigger is maybe 2.25lbs.  I could have made it lighter but I felt the triggertech was fine out of the box.  I didn't want to make it like 1.5 lbs and gamerish.  The cantilever mount is because the apa base is stubbed off short, and the MK5 eye relief is long, and I needed it high for a clip on night sight.  The barrel is contoured for a FA762SS or a PSR7, and that's the other reason I bought the action.

I have one big request: Make a 6mm version. Or open up the PRC-22 bore enough for 6mm. 6mm’s dominate the PRS world, as do brakes. Ideally a 6mm version with an inch or two chopped off would be even better. I’ll take a little extra noise to have the brake be more effective. Gotta wear earpro at a match anyway. The Area419 is loud, but it was never meant to be quiet, just to have an effective brake without the concussion of a brake. Something equally effective at keeping the reticle on target, yet quieter, and at your current price point would be a hot seller.

I see the ballistics they look good.  A dedicated 6mm version is kind of a tall order from the perspective of we have a lot of models.  More models isn’t the hottest thing to do.

We have a 6.5 brake for the 30 cal version and we would have to run different cores and make the brake to have a 6mm one.  Maybe we’ll think about it is a good answer for now.

Are the bores of the baffle stack as printed or are they wire EDM’d after final assembly? Could you open the bores up 40 thou on a run of them for 6mm clearance and see how they sell? I’d be fine with one of the existing 6.5mm brake end caps on it rather than adding another brake diameter. A 26” barrel plus a 7.5” long can for the 30cal version just gets really long when trying to maneuver around barricades and stuff.

We would have to make a new model of can to be 6mm.  It's not impossible, it's just not something we have to sell right now.  We are working on a .338LM version of the can currently.  That one is kind of longer.

I appreciate the idea.  It's something to kick around.

@Kevinski  The 6mm version is in the printers today.  We kind of caught up and decided why not.  We also are in the process of bringing 6ARC, 22ARC, and 338ARC to MK2 AR's in our line.  This stuff will play out over 3-4 months.  Hopefully the 6ARC cans will be available in more like 2 months.

Impressive response to customer input! Cool to see how far you’ve brought the company since I was in your tiny little shop in Dousman many years ago.

Thanks.  I guess I wasn’t really thinking about the new calibers.  They have some promising performance. At least 6 ARC seems like a performer.

Yeah it’s been an incredible effort over decades of time.  We’re usually too busy looking at the future to think about the past.

@Green0

Have you tested it on, or any plans for a 6.5 CM, or do you feel the PRC-300 will be 'close enough' on a 6.5 (maybe have a 6.5 endcap brake available?).

Currently using a Scythe with add on G2 RecoilX brake, I haven't compared it to anything else but it seems fairly effective and is a known combination. I would make my RecoilX available for testing for you.

We do have a 6.5 brake for the PRC 300 and it is one baffle longer than the 22 and 6mm PRC versions.

We have formerly made 30 cal and 6.5 versions of the same cans and found the 30 cal versions to suppress sound better.  I think that has something to do with the long bullets used in 6.5.

We did the 6mm bore specific version because people asked for that in a few places.  That can is the same length as the 22 version.
