Winchester (Miroku made) Model 1895. Just brought her home today.

This weekend I'll break out my leather tools and make a cuff for the stock.

Later on I want to remove the rebounding aspect of the hammer, ditch the tang safety, fit a legit steel butt-plate and as a retirement gift to myself send it to Turnbull for color case hardening.

I'll find ammo for it one of these days

Always wanted one of those............I wish Winchester would make a musket with bayonet and full wood in 7.62x54 or .30-06

and here's some ammo

.405 Winchester

Thank you for the ammo link!

I'm going to roll my own once FedEx gets my dies to me. 50 bucks a box I'll have my dies paid for in 30 rounds

Eta, since it's a picture thread - this was a great weekend project.

Cool! I want one of these bad....30-40 Krag or .30-06 would be my choice.  However any one would get my attention.

Picked up a Ruger 50th Anniversary single six off a buddy a while back. Went to Dicks to get my 8yo a bb gun for his birthday and walked out with a Henry Golden Boy as well.

Marlin 1894S in 44 mag. Saw a pic here recently with a levergun with rail and an optic. Got an EGW pic rail and scored an RMR dual illumination sight on the EE. Love this set up.

Went on a hog hunting trip last year and my brother and I went with lever guns.  I took a hog that was over 300lbs with my 45-70, along with Federal 300 grain.  Not sure what he was shooting out of his Marlin Dark 30-30 but had to take a second shot.

Just picked up a Henry 44 All Weather today for no good reason.  My only other lever is a barely pre-Remington Marlin 39a.

Here's the Henry.

Joined the quiet lever gun club today.  LEVTAC92 in 357.  The plan is to de space cowboy it and go for a more classic old school look.  I'm excited.

My Lever family so far..

Henry Series X in 30-30 Win (just waiting on the scope mounts to mount the scope)
Winchester 1892 in 32-20 Win (dates to 1910, picked that up yesterday)
Rossi Puma in 38/357
Henry in 38/357

Henry got some new accessories, Tally scope mount came in on Sat from Henry and the newer Gen2 handguards from Ranger Point came in this morning. I am liking this handguard set so far, was fairly straight forward and easy to install.

@RO73

Sweet setup, who makes the sling and the sling mount?

I also picked this up for my wife today, she's at work so she doesn't know yet. She carries a stainless S&W 686+ with a 2.5 barrel in .357 so I figured this Rossi .357 would be a good companion.

Nice Rossi. She’s going to love it. I also carry a 2.5” 686+ once in a while.

Some photos from back in February when I went for few days in the Az back country. The 1895 just feels "right on these adventures.

Found an little homestead/sheep camp that's now only a small wall, and what looks like the remnants of a fireplace?

The last little bit of a wall

Sleeping under the stars, with the trusty lever! (Just in case some cattle rustlers try anything. )

This rifle got me back into reloading deeper than I have ever gone. So of course now I cast my own bullets and powdercoat them later. Some .405gr, and some 153gr "collar" bullets that are so much fun to shoot with ten grains of bullseye! Turns the beast into a bean shooter that will bounce soda cans around all day, and isn't too terrible as a smaller game rifle! If you reload, and have a 45-70, pick up one of these MP molds! I keep a handful in my bags just to screw around with, and they are still fairly accurate out to a decent distance.

First shot, a heavy 405, second was the 153. I've gone down to five grains of bullseye with no problem, but stick with ten grains just to ensure they do exit the barrel with no questions before I touch off a +p round behind it!

Nice, don't have a .45-70 currently.  Used to have a 1972 dated Marlin 1895 and a Browning 1886 carbine.

Fantastic! I would love to find one like that. As it is I'll just have to suffer through my 1895 Trapper 45-70 LOL

It was the only one I could find locally about five years ago or so. Luckily it's a good one! I want a "tactical" one with a light or laser on it, as I think it'd be the perfect bump in the night camp gun, but can't bring myself to mess with this one.

I would love to see that with a octagon barrel. I think that would look gorgeous. I'm looking right now for either a Uberti or Pedersoli 1886 reproduction in 45-70...

That's a pretty neat non traditional setup.

I just wish someone would go that final step and figure out how to make those style of stocks fold or collapse for transport or storage; it would make them considerably more versatile.

It doesn't look like it would be hard. Just put a hinge right after the tang and make it reversible for left or right handed shooters.

My pawn shop score from a couple weeks ago. 1964 Winchester 94 in .30-30. One of the first post-64s. Receiver is ugly but the rest of it looks really nice. Action is like glass and is very accurate. Oh, did I mention I paid $300 OTD for it?

One of my favorite rifles, originally a gift from my wife, many, many moons ago.  A JM Marlin 336W (the kind they sold at Walmart).  I added peep sights and had the stocks dipped.
