For a While I had a Burris Fastfire red dot mainly because it was low profile, though it wasn't low enough to match up with the iron sights, so I ended up taking it off after a few range sessions and stuck with the XS iron sights. That and it just didn't look right on there. This is what It looked like before I went with the full rail and iron sights.

It would be so much better if everyone would mention at least the make, model, caliber and year of production if known of their rifles.
There are a few on this page that I would love to know more about but don't want to screw up a pic thread with questions. |

The one's that didn't are the exception, not the rule. If you have aquestion and don't want to muck up the thread, just IM the person and ask. I've done that many times.

Ok so I have a Marlin 1895 XRL 45/70,I may be trading it for the new Guide Gun with all the bells and whistles so I'll wait on pics for that buuuuuuuut~
I was asking about the Henry "Big Boy" .357/.38 because my new intrest with the .357 showed it to be a viable carbine cal,the Henry looked nice Etc. well one shop I go to had this A.Uberti Win '73 short rifle......I always liked and wanted an 1873 carbine.......I had my old Super Blackhawk .44 that I NEVER shoot anymore,haven't even bought shels for it in ten years......I prefer the S&W 66 over the SP-101 I bought..................ok Have .44 I don't want+have Ruger SP-101 I'm about 100% sure I won't carry much=having trading supplys,will haggle. End result?  it's a .357/.38 and shoots the same shells as my revolver.

Just picked up my third Marlin, a 444XLR. My other two are: a pre-safety 1894C .357 straight-grip carbine w/ microgroove barrel, and a 1894 Cowboy Limited in .357.
I bought a cheap stock sleeve to hold some extra rounds, and roughly cut it down to fit. I'll take it off and clean up the cut at some point, but it works for now. I bought several types of bullets to hand-load, but I'm stuck to using the all-copper Barnes 225gr. XPB while hunting in-state due to the condor-huggers.  I plan to hunt wild boar/feral pigs, so with that bullet, it works out just fine. I'm going to get the XS ghost ring sights, and probably one of the rail mounts for a scout scope.

Model 30A, 39A, and 1894CB Limited .45 colt. The 1894CB is a very sweet shooting gun, shorter, smoother lever throw and very accurate.

I've tried to see things from the liberal point of view ... but I'm just not flexible enough to get my head up my ass.
This is my main gun and about the last gun I would ever part with. I went into a pawn shop one day and there it was. A whopping $179 bucks American later it was mine. I just got 200 Sierra ProHunter 170s yesterday so I am happy. It is hard to find the Marlin with the straight stock and 18.5" barrel so I feel very lucky to have this one. I have lost count of how many deer I have killed with it and it is a joy in the field. Since this pic I stripped the MarShield finish off and Tru oiled the stocks and the gun looks a lot better and the stocks bead water now instead of soaking it up. I love this gun.
