Got a call (voicemail) today: Hey there, my name is XXXX. I'm calling because I' m looking for a place that provides gun storage. I'm not sure that's something you guys did but in case you do please give me a call back... A Google search show a few others getting this same call over the past years/months with the same question. Anyone ever get the same phone call and know if it legitimate proposition or something else? |

I got a call like this a week or two ago. I didn't notice the area code. I asked the guy how long he needed storage. He said around three months. I just told them I don't offer that service. I thought it was a little odd, but didn't think too much of it especially since the guy wasn't persistent at all. What's the scam? |

That is my question....Seems a little too structured of a question...(and just because you are paranoid does not mean someone is NOT out to get you  ) |

Online chatter is that it's a scammer, criminals who want to case your premises (especially if you're home-based/appointment only for transfers), or a research group deciding on whether to set up companies as FFL's for specific this purpose to fulfill a business need. We're only five miles from the VA border so we've considered setting up something for residents if they need to get banned guns out of state temporarily until they can move. |
