We finally got "off the production line" versions of the 9mm and .45 ACP suppressors just over a week ago and already have put several hundred rounds through them. So far performance is outstanding. The .45 can is "backyard quiet" for sure when shot dry. I'll add more pictures and reviews. But these are starting to ship.

The silencer weighs 10.9 oz (the 9mm version is 11.1) and is 7.875" long. The piston adds another 1/8" to the length bringing the total to right at 8". Engraving is on the bottom: .jpg)

Notice the design allows for traditional, stock sights to see over the suppressor body. This was true on the 1911s we tried as well. .jpg)
This production version includes a cam lock so the suppressor can be indexed and then locked in place. .jpg)

Here are the 9mm and 45 versions of the Osprey on two of my favorite host weapons. Performance was as good as we expected. Everything was reliable and sound is certainly "backyard quiet" for both suppressors without using wet medium. .jpg)
Retail is $849.95. Suppressors come with choice of threaded piston, take apart tool, pouch and complete product packaging. Both versions are coming off the production line now so dealers should have these in hand within a few weeks at most. Pouch: .jpg)
We demoed both units at the "Machine Gun Melee" annual shoot in Toccoa, GA November 21 for folks who want to try them. I was even able to hit steel targets at 100-yards fairly consistently thanks to the low profile that allows use of the factory sights. I'll post some pictures from that event when I can. Mark |

I stopped into Impact Guns SLC on Black Friday to check out the demos. Got some trigger time on the indoor range with the 9mm Osprey mounted on a Glock host. Even in a tight quarter like a range stall, the sound reduction was incredible! Thanks to Gary from Silencerco for the great presentation. Made a believer out of me. I was ready to invest in a GemTech. Now, it's going to be a tough choice.

I shot a 45 Osprey wet with some 185gr Atlanta Arms ammo and it is REALLY quiet. We used a few CC of water and I was amazed. It was as quiet as my Evo-9. I'll be owning one in the future. The cam lock for indexing the mount is super simple and works like a champ. |
| Some have asked about Osprey wet.Osprey works well wet or dry. Have shot it both ways in 9mm, .40 and .45 acp. I shot it wet on the range the other day (9mm and .40) and even my wife said "wow that's quiet". She has been shooting P22 with Sparrow.....indexing system has been awesome moving it back and forth from multiple hosts. I am going to try and get some pics and viseo from one of my LE demo's soon. Oh yeah, Retail is 850.00, someone else had asked. Sorry I don't get to check this thread as much as I would like. |

I was pissed when AAC never put the Blackbox out, 'cause it looked cool and was hearing safe dry(I think). Now, I don't want the Blackbox, 'cause this Osprey will fly into my arsenal*, and the Blackbox can stay at the crash site.
*pending new job, that is. OPSINC, HPLLC, Degroat Tactical(pending) and soon SilencerCo. Love me some cans!!!!! |

what gives, I thought these were shipping out weeks ago??? Benji Any news yet? NOPE, well, sorta. I talked to Josh himself last week and he said all the parts for them are sitting in piles/stacks waiting to be assembled. He said they are dialing in the assembly process to make sure QC stays high. When I talked to him (almost 2 weeks ago) he said it'd be shipped out next week (which woulda been last week). So according to what he told me it should hit my dealer by the end of this week... My dealer (Oregon Research Labs) lets me shoot the stuff while I'm waiting for the F4, so I will try and get a couple pics if anybody's interested. cheers, Benji |

I'm sure you can. Louder than a dedicated 9mm can, but quieter than not having one at all. I'm not sure if the guts from the 9mm Osprey will fit in the .45 version. You may need to make/buy a threading adapter. I've never tried it or read about anyone else doing it. I bought mine with a 16x1L threading for an HK. |

Well, Pat from ORL called and my Osprey 45 is in. Imma head there tomorrow morning on the way home from work and fill out the F4. If I'd brought my .45 with me I could get some video of me shooting it out at his place, but I donts gots it... He actually said he's excited about hearing it shoot since it's such a new design and not like anything he's had in his hands before. I told him if he's got something else that'd host it we can shoot it on that. Maybe some .44 special through his Rossi... I very excite, Benji |

I was at work when Pat emailed to tell me it came in so I didn't have my host, ammo, or a camera with me. I stopped by this morning to check it out and fill out the F4's. He was gracious enough to offer up some ammo and a couple hosts. We shot it dry at first and it was super quiet compared to the HEMS II (which is way shorter and a totally different can, so not really apples to apples). For some reason I thought it was a steel can, so you can imagine my surprise when I picked it up and realized it was aluminum... It's SUPER light, this will be a really fun can to own; it's gonna be my new gopher gitt'r. Without a doubt it's hearing safe dry and from the shooter's perspective it sounded WAY quieter than a .22lr. With a couple squirts of water it was REALLY quiet. We finished off a mag to boil off the water and it sounded great. The indexing system is really nice, tight, and crisp. AND, it came with a really nice FDE pouch with molle hooks and a takedown tool for changing the piston out if you've got multiple hosts. Pat took some more pics with a nice camera, so I'm sure they'll be up on his website soon... My host right now will be a G30 SF until I get a threaded barrel for my Springfield GI this year sometime... here's the only pic I could get:  |
