I'm very happy with it! Adjusted the gas to lock back on empty unsuppressed with supers and it is very smooth. Accuracy is better than my last couple 300 barrels, but that may also have been the suppressor mount causing it. I switched from Plan B back to YHM's sRx, which i previously ran without issue. 110gr TAC-TX averaged 2,007 FPS over 19.3gr H110. 20gr had it around 2,100 FPS. I may put a magnified optic on just to see how tight it will group, but the below felt good for me at 50 yards with a red dot. I also only put 60 rings through it, so it should tighten up some more. @Atropian_Defector I'm really liking this setup. I've got the gas choked down enough that it is reliable with supers, but it won't run subs suppressed. I'll open it up a couple clicks to play with it when I shoot subs. That said, it is much smoother and pleasant to shoot than my 8" 300 build with BRT gas tube and LWRC ultra compact buffer system. At my indoor range there is a substantial difference in sound from supers to subs. Today I handed it to a buddy to shoot outdoors. He thought I handed it to him with subs. I was shocked how it sounded outdoors too. Really excited to try subs in it. He thought that same as me with how it shoots and handles as well. Suppressor is a Diligent Defense Enticer S. Today's ammo was 125gr TNT over 18.1gr H110. It averaged 1,818 FPS out of this barrel. AAC 125gr FMJ averaged 1,778 FPS out of it. |

The Honey Badger is the most pleasant one to shoot and of the variants I prefer the SD. It's like the Ferrari option. It's very well made and reliable, however after about 300 rounds it starts gunking up and carbon needs wiped off the BCG and out of the barrel extension else it can be prone to failure to chamber on reloads with open tip ammo. The SD handles great, but it's strictly subsonic use alternate to MP5SD like its original intention. Just 15 rounds of supersonic makes the handguard too hot with bare hands. A quality AR build is probably the most comfortable one to shoot and practical. A lot of advantages for this one. I prefer 8-10" role of this option. Negative is even with the compact buffer tube stocks, it'll be the longest option rear of the receiver. MCX is probably the most refined next to a 300blk AR. This would probably be my usual recommendation just because it just runs without cleaning, you can fold the stock, and the weight isn't too bad with the newer LTs. Negatives are it's the gassiest option and significantly louder at ear compared to the HB or a dialed in AR, so I'm glad having all three. The other stuff mentioned is okay. |

It’s long stroke piston. It’s a lot of calibers so if .300 dies or becomes hard to get you can switch to a number of others, including good old 5.56. Parts are available. So far every upgrade has worked with every previous version, so no gen left behind! It’s outlived the SCAR and the ACR. It’s American. It launches brass so hard you can fight the guy in front of you and the guy to the right of you at the same time. You can take it completely apart with your hands and a set of hex keys. It’s a good excuse to buy a high inch-pound torque wrench. It’s Mormon. It has a totally awesome bolt release/hold open. It has a charging handle like a FAL so you can imagine you’re fighting the Argentinians in the Falklands. Or the British in the Falklands. So yeah, join us. Join us. |

I've read on here or seen via YouTube a couple of negative reports about the BRN-180 Gen 3. The CMMG Dissent doesn't work with an FRT, and even if you don't really want one now that's an avenue that would be shut off to you forever if you went that route. The JAKL is PSA and I'm not convinced yet that their QC is where it should be. B&T's anticipated 7.5" barreled PDW in 300 BO looks like it's going to be insanely expensive and I'm not sure on its acceptance of an FRT yet. The BREN 3 in 300 BO looks nice, but I believe it's 8" and as far as I know it too doesn't work with an FRT. I'm not a fan of SIG, not at all, but the Sig Rattler LT does look to me to be the best option right now. It will work with an FRT, it does appear to be of acceptable quality and is mature enough now that I feel comfortable with its earned reputation. For a civilian, I don't think the 300 BO is really a "sentry gun" deal like it is for the MIL. I think you're looking at a backpack PDW, truck gun, or home defense firearm. If the primary use is as a Truck gun I think the adjustability of the gas system trumps a lot of other factors, because you probably do want to be able to run both subs and supers through it. With the inconsistent and wide variety of 300 BO loads, I do like an AR build like Wolfpack Armories with their Riflespeed adjustable gas block. The drawback with the Wolfpack Armory is that it needs its AR buffer tube and so if you really, really need a folder you're looking at a bulky profile when folded, which isn't great for a backpack gun or maybe a truck gun where you're limited on the space where it's gong to be kept. |

| I was/am in the same boat as the OP - and opted for the BRN-180 G3. I really wanted for this to work, but it won't. I tested 6 different loads through it (4 supers and 2 subs) and accuracy was HORRIBLE will all loads but one. 130 supers printed at 2.5 moa (all groups were 5 shot groups with holosun green dot) - everything else was 9 to 12 moa!!! I have never had rifle shoot such horrible groups. Additionally the gas block would freeze after about 20 rounds to make it non-adjustable. Reliability sucked, but that might be totally related to the non-adjustable gas block. I have been in contact with Brownells and am sending it back for a refund. Looks like a Spear LT is in my future instead. I really wanted the 180 G3 to work but it doesn't. |
