If only.... I'm guessing $2,200ish for the SPEAR? Hopefully? I dunno. It is pretty neat that the NGSW MG, if I'm using that term correctly, uses an upside-down Virtus gas system, at least that's what it looks like. Quoted:

I would shit a gold brick if that was the price point. That would be phenomenal, and they would crush the market if the platform has good precision, which I imagine they can easily do. Quoted:

Yeah, probably too hopeful. Honestly, the MCX is a killer deal for what you get. You can find Virtus rifles for about $1,500 if you look, and sometimes you can find sub-$1k Legacies. I just wonder what kind of economy of scale we're looking at for the SPEAR, and how much of the development/capital expenses will be based off the 5.56 version. I just hope that they get it released by Summer 2020. Quoted:

So there's the cheek riser for the folding/collapsible stock. Kinda neat.
Then on the second link, Fig. 23 looks substantially different from the MCX-SPEAR. Almost like the SPEAR had a baby with the NGSW, or a mag fed-only version of the NGSW. There's an additional buffer spring that links the bolt carrier group to the lower, and the bolt is far different than what we saw in the Recoil article long ago. |

| Keep in mind, patent drawings aren't necessarily indicative of a product that will come to market or has even been physically built. Patents are usually written/drawn by people completely removed from the actual engineering and product design, and are just meant to cover all the possible bases. Anything claimed in a patent must be shown in a figure and described in the specification, otherwise that claim element won't make it through the prosecution process. Just because it's in a drawing doesn't mean it exists, or ever will, it just means someone thought of it and it fit within the scope of the patent so they threw it in there to make sure they covered as much as possible. |

Certainly, it would be great for those occasions when ROE/SOFA dictates that you cannot have a belt fed in the AO. Once again, I'm really amazed that the MGs are using what appears to be a Virtus gas system. Seeing M249s and M240s burn out their gas regulator makes me really impressed with what should be the longevity of a semi-auto Virtus gas system. |

Gunbroker. There was just one that went for $999, but it was marked as MPX in the title, and MCX in the description. There's been some good stuff listed somewhat recently. A few Virtus uppers for $1100-1200, the Legacies, a 6.75" barrel for $375, I got a 16" Virtus barrel and HG for $350, etc. |

Set up a saved search for "MCX", and have it sort by newest. For some reason, it will always put the featured items first, so you after going through everything once, you just have to look at the first few, then jump to the end of the featured items and look at the newest non-featured items. | I had 3 MCX's at one point, liked them but them I trimmed down, part of it was the spare parts were not available with no end in sight. I would like to pick up a Virtus, but after handling one, the. bulk, mainly the handguard needs to go in my opinion. Trim it down(diameter) and shorten it Sig. I like the platform, would like to see it lighter like it used to be. |

For Legacy, yes. Lancer doesnt make a handguard for Virtus. Quoted:

Pretty sure Lancer makes a carbon fiber handguard for the MCX. I emailed both them and Geissele, and both replied they have no plans to make MCX handguards. By the way, a birdie told me the Lancer handguards actually are for the LVAW, which has slightly different top rail dimensions than the legacy uppers. True? |

So what's up with the 8" MPX? Did SIG say anything? That was the perfect length, IMO. Did they just kill it altogether? It could make a come back as a distributor exclusive, we'll see. |

That said, there is definitely some "want what you cant have" in effect here. It's a fine line that we have to straddle in evaluating what is "real" demand, vs "I cant have it, so that's what I am going to say I want". Like I said, it's in play for a potential SMU for a distributor. |

So, this would include dedicating more time to building more MPX rifles/pistols/components - which means "stealing" production time from something else. 2.) Our sales data tells us a completely different story, in regards to demand in the marketplace. |

Quoted: I bet if you offered 8" versions and/or barrel assemblies, the MPX would be a better suppressor host than it is. Quieter and less gassy than it is. Too bad your sales data tells you that while plenty of other guys are selling full size MP5, or 8" Stribogs or the 7" B&Ts or the 8" CMMG RDB. 4.5" is ok, but the platform would benefit from a longer barrel option. |

This. I bought a 4.5 MPX because there isn't another option. The 4.5 was the only modernized MPX for sale with a decent trigger and MLOK from the factory. In fact it is the only MPX for sale sub 16" barrel. |
