ok i know this is an old thread,but im new here
nice bent stick you got there i have made many self bows,and just love to shoot and hunt with them osage is an awesome bow wood got one in the making right now,nearly finished its for a guy in texas how long is it,what are the tip overlays,what is the dra length/weight of it? and i gotta ask you,wheres the money shot pic? the full draw thats what really shows how good a self bow is |

the traditional bowyers bibles are great books from what i hear
i may self have never read any of them i have been making self bows for over ten years now and have made close to a hundred of them i learned the old fashioned way, trial and error did i wreck some you bet i did,but even people who read them books are going to mess up their first bows people who start to make bows rarely ever make a good bow from their first several attempts one must learn proper tillering for the differant bow woods,plus proper bow design for those same woods not all woods are the same,nor do they all like to be made into the same style of bow but reading them books will help a person understand all of these different things which in turn will help you learn how to make a successful bow quicker |
