Broke my wrist a few weeks back. On bow hunt only lease. So did my research and ended up purchasing a mission sub-1. My first crossbow. My vertical bows are all mission/Matthews so kind of biased. Was looking at the Ravin r29 and r10 as well. Like heavy arrows so went with 300 gr arrows with 100 gr field pts to sight in. After mounting leveling scope. Put in my lead sled to zero. Chrono says avg 358 fps. And shot a 1” group at 60 yds. Just wow! Tried a fixed blade slick trick and it hits 4” low and 2” left. The mag meat mechanical practice head hits 1 1/2 “ off my field pts. So pretty close. Noticed that if I switch feet to hold down bow while rope cocking zero shifts left and right?? So ordered a RSD cocking crank. Not sure about rope cocking from a lock on stand. I think I’m good out to 40 yds on a deer. Most of our stands the shots are 30 yds max. And 15-20 is where we typically shoot |
