I have some target arrows that the fletching is getting pretty rough on. In the past, I lost my arrows long before I needed to re-fletch, so that must mean I'm progressing right? So, I ordered a bitzenburger jig to re-do them. I'm curious how often most of you guys need to re-fletch? |
| Torn, damaged ones get put to the side until I have about half dozen or so then I usually figure out what I want to do with them and if a change in vanes are in order. I'm currently collecting damaged shafts as well that can cut down to my shortest arrow length I can use, when I get enough of those I'll decide on the length available and be setting up a whole newly sized set that should work with a minor change in tune. |

I re-fletch as soon as they are damaged. I use the AZ E-Z fletch so it's pretty easy to do. scrape the old ones off (with the proper tool) clean all the old glue off with acetone (remove the nocks first  )apply the new fletching and wait for it to dry. All my arrows are identically fletched and use the same nocks. Yellow tiger stripe cock vane, white tiger stripe hen vanes. As far as how often, if I forget and shoot groups (especially at 20 yards), I'm going to be re-fletching arrows and replacing nocks. If I don't shoot groups, then I don't have to worry about it very often. |

Takes a bit of time to set up but once you get it dialed it fletch’s arrows extremely well. I also started using a primer pen and better glue then I ever used before. It makes a big difference. Wraps to help, no glue scraping and it’s only like $1 more per arrow plus they make the arrows easier to see. Next purchase will be a saw. |
