I guess it was my turn. Just shooting for fun and the bowstring broke. Luckily all it did to me was leave a huge welt on the inside of my left wrist. I was using carbon fiber arrows. I did find part of the arrow about 10 feet in front of where I was shooting. It looks like it broke in a "Z" shape. Anyway, can I just restring the bow or is it toast? Attached File |

Take it into your local bowshop and have it looked over. Cam and wheel might be bent. You can also take a cotton ball and wipe the limbs with it, make sure to go over the bottoms and sides as well, and if it catches anywhere on the limbs they are probably toast. If it all checks out your probably looking at least 150 for strings/cables not including install. |

| Went by the archery shop this morning. They were closed dammit. Will try again next week. Hadn't thought about the pulleys and such, just looking for cracks in the limbs. Bought it a couple years from a pawn shop for $200, if it takes $150 to fix I am just going to find a new bow. Something a little bit faster. |

If it’s a Mathews you can still get parts for it from them, if it’s anyone else’s bow and it needs more then strings throw it away. If you broke your arrow I’m going to say that’s what caused your string to break. The breaking of the arrow could be caused by a lot of things, one being a semi dry fire due to not seating the mock totally on the string or breaking the nock. If you hit arrows or anything hard best practice is to flex your arrow before shooting it again. |

I tossed it and got a new bow. It was a PSE, I thought they were good but is an old one and I would like a bit more arrow speed so new bow it is. Thanks everyone. |
