Just broke the bow out to start shooting again for the next season here in NY.  When i went to draw it back, about 1/3 of the way it starts making a creaking sound. Any of you have any suggestions?

I am shooting a High Country Archery Brute Force 2007.

Can you hear where it's creaking from?   I'd probably try a litte lube on the axles

It sounds like the axles. I did grease them. I have noticed that the string slide is missing and not in the case.  Would this make the cam go out of alignment and cause this do you think?

I wouldn't even draw that again until you get a new slide.  Last thing you want is that to derail.

I'd press the bow, pull the axles all the way out out and lube them, and put on a new slide.

I'm not sure if that bow has bearings or bushings in the cams, but I'd certainly check them while I had it apart.

It will be a cheap fix.

Its the little keepers that the cable yolks fit over.  Had the same issues on my Mathews.  I greased and lubed everything to no luck.  Local shop changed them out and been good ever since.

Thanks for the input, going to go to the shop tomorrow.  Have them look it over. Need a new rest and release as the prong rest I have gave me trouble in the past.  Also, the bow states do not use a press as it can damage the bow.

All presses or certain presses?

It says presses in general. I cannot find any more information about it on there website. Have yet to search there forums though.

It doesn't appear to be a bow style that I would even hesitate to press from the limb tips.

I'd appreciate if you let me know any reasoning why it whouldn't be pressed.  Might be handy to know later on.

To be honest with you, I have no reasoning on why it shouldn't.  HCA put warning labels on it. IDK if it is because of the split limb design and the material its made of maybe.  This was my first bow and have been out of the game except for occasional target practice in the back yard this past year.  I am looking for a new bow so i can set this one up for my New Bowfishing rig and retire my old Marten Lynx.  I just wan tthis to get through one more season.

Got the bow back earlier today.  The creaking i heard was taken care of with a new string slide.  Cheap easy fix and I even surprised myself with 2inch groups at the range.

It sounds like you fixed it, but I have had a cam module creak like that before.  Sounded like it was a limb creaking.  Solution was to lube it with white lithium grease and then tighten the screws good.
