| Which direction should a piston vent excess gas? Forward, out the side or down onto the barrel? Interestingly, the new Beretta Narp rifle vents its gas Downward. I guess that would mean it's on top of the barrel. Opinions? |
My BRN4/Brownells 416 clone as the earlier style self adjusting HK block which vents the gas forward - honestly, I kind of like that…the downside is it covers your suppressor (and suppressor wrap if you have one) with gunk  But it beats coating your barrel with carbon, or dumping the hot gas in your handguards…IMO anyway |
