I recently built a 10.5 ar pistol Using a BA 10.3 hanson barrel and BCM MCMR 10" rail and precision armament m4-72 comp Problem i ran into was the muzzle device sat way to far back in the rail.. 10.3 barrel too short. So switched to a 10.5 223 wylde barrel.. figuring the comp won't sit so fat back. It sticks out end of rail a little better.. My concern if I shoot it.. will the blowback from the comp mess up accuracy or the rail? The ports on comp aim backwards towards rail Only other option is 11.5 barrel but I'm tired of trying to get it right. Attached are some pics..any help is greatly appreciated Pics here |

You could try this inexpensive option: KAW Valley Barrel Extenders. I put one on a barrel because I wanted to upgrade a hand guard that didnt come in the size I needed for my barrel length. Lke you, didnt want to tear it all apart. Again. The 1.25" extender added just the right amount of length for function, and it looks great. IMHO these work. I tested it with a cleaning tool after installing because I was skeptical they'd mate perfectly inside the barrel, but it turns out they do indeed! There's zero lip inside the barrel that I could feel and it matches up cleanly outside. I used some Red Loctite so I'd never have to think about it, and until now, had forgotten about it because it works so well. It's inexpensive without any bearing on my groups that I can discern. YMMV but hope this can help. |

Honestly, I would like to know how it "shoots" , IE does the muzzle blast from the rearward directing exhaust ports ( on the muzzle device ) ... well... cause burns to your hand. I would suggest a thick leather glove, for at least a 30rd mag of firing. |
