Which Sub $100 2-stage Trigger? (Page 1 of 2)

| I'm looking for a sub $100 2-stage trigger for a new build. In the past I've used Larue. Any other brands I should be considering? Thanks! |

Not sure if they still do, but RRA would replace a trigger if it failed or got mushy. I haven't wore mine out yet, but I assume there's a reason if they offer to replace them. |

You haven't mentioned what your using the gun for and what trigger weight? I like the RRA Varmint, it's 2 stage 3.5-4lbs. Works well for me with action shooting drills. Heavy enough pull so it's not doubling from the recoil. I usually find them somewhere for $70-$80. Their match version is 4.5-5lbs and costs the same. |

I want all my AR"s to go bang regardless of ammo. They are all used for ranch patrolling (we have illegal invaders), truck guns, hunting and home defense. I have had to use the heavier springs on a few of the Larues, because they did not set off some NATO 5.56 rounds. Yes, a std. Mil spec trigger would probably work ok, but I've become used to better triggers. |

| Right now, for God knows how long, this is the best I have seen. These are great triggers and I have used the V version or WOA modified version of this trigger for decades without that first hiccup. |

It's a great looking deal. I tried ordering over the weekend and thought something was wrong with my credit card when I couldn't get it to go through, with error messages saying it's a non-matching address for the card. I checked my card's website, everything fine. Tried a purchase elsewhere, went fine. Their card processor/store has issues of some type with my address and just cannot match it.

No problem at all when I ordered mine shortly before posting about it the first time. You might try again or re-boot. I've had problems before on random sites and shutting down all the way and rebooting fixed the problem. Why it only affects a particular site is beyond my understanding but whenever I get a glitch, reboot. 99% of the time, that fixes it. And it's not like my computer or phone is old but they are Apple and sometimes sites just don't want to play well with Apple products, rare, but it happens, at least to me anyway. BY the way, those RRA NM triggers will give you a 4-5 pound pull but the JP Enterprises enhanced reliability spring kit will drop it a half pound to a pound. I do not replace the disco though. I just installed another of these triggers but this time I took actual measurements before and after. With the standard springs that come with it, it measured 4 pounds, 13 ounces. When I replaced both hammer and trigger spring with the JP enhanced reliability spring kit (red hammer, yellow trigger), but not the disconnect, the pull weight measured 4 pounds 3 ounces, for a 10 ounce drop. |

I put a GEISSELE $12 trigger spring in the ROCK RIVER unit to get it over the CMP 4.5# requirement. Buy it on the GEISSELE website if you need that much weight. The Rock River (and the LARUE) triggers are both what I call “50/50” triggers. About half the weight on first stage, and half on the second. By comparison the adjustable GEISSELE national match trigger puts about 80% of the weight on the first stage, and 20% on the second stage. |
