Just ordered an MKE MAC 5 package from Atlantic. This is definitely getting an FRT. Much prefer a 3 position as I used to have a transferable MP5 years ago. The missus has seen the FRT's in different firearms and said to outfit the new one with an FRT. Who am I to complain. I have Super Safeties in a few rifles, and a Trigger Kicker in another. |
I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me and say "You're next". They stopped that when I started doing it to them at funerals.

Having one pack that works in both housings is a huge plus. |

RB if you wanna rock and roll by next weekend. ASD Mafia is rolling out their awesomeness in a month or so. 1500 units first allocation and no pre sales. You think trying to buy a Green G$ Blemula rifle is tough? Try and get one of these ![]() That said I pre bought their 53 lower last November and they canceled the project for the slip trip so it was useless to me. They were cool and going to refund me, I said nah just keep it as store credit for when the pack arrives. Imagine my disappointment in a month or so when I can’t spend the money I gave them a year ago as they’ll be sold out so dang fast. ![]() I might just say fuck it and sell my 53 at that point lol. J/K but I will make them buy me a beer for my wait if I ever run into them at the club lol. |
I just got a radiata victrix for my ptr. It works well. I hope someone eventually sells just a cam/lever so that push button can be switched out.

I’ll be honest I had nothing but issues with my Lee lower and super safety. I don’t think I ever made it through a full mag without a malfunction of some kind. Something was always up with ejection. With nothing but the rare breed trigger pack and Mke ejector Its run like it’s a factory select fire. |

I went with a Lee lower and grey market research parts. H&K SP5 for the gun. Thing has been solid from day one and I installed it when pretty much the only forum talking about it was Hoffman Tactical forum. There is no way in hell I'd buy a pure greed. Of course I have morals and principles. Might as well donate to the brady champaign or everytown when buying from pure greed. pure greed is doing the same thing as any anti gun democrat. Restricting your right to choose what frt you purchase. |

Got it in less than a week. Pops right in (follow the direction in the video on their site, there are a couple extra steps over OEM). Test fired. Was getting failures to eject multiple times per mag. Ordered German H&K made ejector and extractor. Installed. Test fired 250 rounds. No stoppage except the 29th round in a mag loaded with 124gr HST hollow points. Research says i need German made mags to feed hollowpoints as all the clones come with Gen 1 type mags. H&K updated the follower and feed lips in the Gen 2 mags to feed hollow points. Dont know if ill bother for what is essentially a range toy. |
As an extra note on my post above, if you are using the Rare Breed in a clone, or an actual H&K for that matter, having ejection issues. Fix the ejection issues before installing the Rare Breed (exactly like I didnt do ). Heres why.An empty fails to eject, jamming up the action. You yank the charging handle to the rear and lock it back. You yank out the mag, and most of the time that clears the issue. However, with the Rare Breed, there is a possibility of a case or live round dropping out of the action and into the FRT cassette, ahead of the trigger. If that happens, here's what happens next, because it happened to me. This was prior to fixing ejection issues. The empty/live round is sitting in front of the hammer. You pull the trigger. CLICK. Hmmmm. Try to pull back the charging handle, only moves a half inch or so. Feels solidly locked up, because it is. When you pulled the trigger, the hammer rotated forward and that case/live round dropped further into the cassette and not only prevented the hammer from hitting the firing pin, but blocked it from being re-cocked I thought id broken the thing until I got home and took it apart and found the empty in the front of the cassette. Heres why that can happen with the Rare Breed and not the OEM trigger group. The OEM has this screw in that location and welded in place. Never thought about why that may be there, but likely something similar. Attached File The Rare Breed doest have this and is simply empty. Attached File |

| Thanks for the replies. Especially the round in front of the cassette. Had never heard of that before. |

I was super happy with my Grey Market Super Safety, Lee lower, and AP5-P. Attached File But then Rare Breed came out with their trigger pack and I swapped. My OCD didn’t like the cross bolt safety, even though everything ran great. |

I have a new AP5 with a RB SEF pack. So far I only have a few mags through it. I ran some 147 gr. Blazer and some 124 gr. FMJ, both suppressed and loud. I was getting a handful of malfunctions. Primarily failures to feed, at around 1 or 2 per mag. Too many. The RB pack has a bit of slop in the MKE lower. Switching back to the factory pack, I don’t believe I had any issues. It’s a pain swapping the ejector back and forth, so I plan to get another lower with an HK ejector to make swapping easy. Also, I plan to shim the RB pack to take up the slop and I don’t want to have to swap shims around as I’m moving trigger packs around. I also have some concern about the AP5 having a 120° locking piece, as I like to shoot primarily subsonic/suppressed. I’m struggling to find anyone with HK locking pieces in stock. I just received a PTR 90° and 100° LP and found both give excessive headspace when installed. So I’ll need to get some oversized rollers before I try shooting either of those. More to come… |

FWIW I have a clone POF-5 full size with a RB trigger in it and it runs 100%. Had issues in the beginning, most notably I replaced the ejector and bent it a little to fit in the bolt groove better. Larger issue was the ammo. I shoot suppressed all the time, and it will NOT shoot FN bullets reliably. I was shooting 147 FN which was a jam-o-matic. I switched to 147 RN's and it's yet to jam or fail to fire hundreds of rounds. SBR'ed it and it's my new favorite until the new ARHK triggers come out late summer. Really looking forward to an HK91 in rock and roll. If I could do it again I'd buy a real HK MP5 new semi gun, and do the rest, SBR, trigger, etc. Perhaps I still will. |

| I also purchased a POF MP5, I’m REALLY happy about the quality of it. I installed a Rare Breed in a Factory HK Ambi trigger housing with a Factory HK ejector and spring. I’m at around 2,000 rounds with no issues! |

My RB Ambi pack was a straight drop-in in my MKE AP5-SD with ambi lower and it runs flawlessly in semi and FRT modes so far, though I don’t have a lot of rounds through it yet. What are the symptoms of needing a shim? |
