Watching John wick and shooting bad guys on the TV. Working hammer pairs, zipper drills, and failure drills today.

What did you do for training today?

I did some scope tweaking a Vortex 2X7-32 Scout Scope on the SOCOM. On the Ruger Scout was the Hi-Lux, also a 2x7-32 Scout Scope. Lots of fun working that bolt action.....

Well I didn't fire laser beams at my TV, but I did run some rifle drills, including Proctor's Soul Crusher, and some work on steel, at 50 & 100 yards.

Helped some buddies work through marksmanship fundamentals. Only put a few rounds on target myself, but it was nice getting them up to speed.

Continued working on a good dope out to 1,000 with the AR10 or whatever you wanna call this thing (wannabe mrgg-a?). 1,000 is just for fun, it’s out of practical range at let’s call it 750.

Also confirmed zero on the SCAR 16 SBR. I hadn’t shot that rifle under a metal roof in a long time - the original Griffin HRT can was pretty loud and unpleasant to be frank.

Training? You mean we’re actually supposed to shoot these things?

Nothing. Laid up from a knee replacement surgery. Oxycodone pain meds and gun handling don't go together.
Be glad when this shit heals. A few friends called and said it was 300 yd Enfield day today. Going to miss out.
I have a new MAC5 MP5 clone to fire. Got it right before my surgery and its sitting in the safe just waiting.
I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me and say "You're next". They stopped that when I started doing it to them at funerals.

Daily dry fire routine, workout. Prepping for an extended medical absence from pretty much all physical activity for a couple months following surgery. It will suck.

Taking some videos of workouts and live fire so I can watch them and remember how I used to not suck.

Pretty hard mountain bike ride this morning. Set a new PR! Which is nuts because it’s only my 4th ride of the season which is already half over.

Did some dry fire training today.  Replaced the FLGR’s in both of my TRP Operator full rail 1911’s with 10-8 reverse plug set ups.  I am going to hit the range on Thursday.
Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun.

I love software threads but they never last since barely anyone here trains or shoots.

Most people here are hardware focused: color matching ano, what's your favorite pistol grip / vertical grip, is this scratch on my new xxx acceptable.

software > hardware

Ain't nobody got time fo dat

j/k sort-of

Sucks for us married parents with littles or teenager(s) going to sports events constantly (sucks/doesn't suck), full-time jobs, hunting (when applicable), fill in the blank, and who also have to drive 30-45min to the nearest real tactical range.  Only time I get real, constant, dedicated shooting time is on vacation.

I shot WAY more 4-5 years ago and prior than I'm able to now.  Couple times a week vs once every couple of weeks it seems lately. Not enough TIME.

Sadly, it's the winter months I have more time to shoot, and then the weather / daylight sucks balls.

All true - however - you can keep a very good edge to your skills doing a little dry fire and manipulations here and there.

DI has its place, but no one's* ever grafted a DI system onto an AK or an FAL.
