This came on a older bushmaster I bought. I was mainly interested in the gun, and have no use for the light. It just makes the front handguard cluttered and harder to hold on to. It came with no batteries, so I put some in it to test and everything seems to work fine. The rubber/buttons are all good with no cracks. Main light is bright works fine. Most what I saw online says they have incandescent bulbs in them, but this one has a LED. Is it maybe a newer model? What is the purpose of the little blue LED's on it? Lastly, is there any value to these, is there a used market for them? I have no use for it and will be putting standard handguards back on it.

There are some nuts out there that would want one. The lower powered lights were for navigation, Different options were offered, red, white, blue. Red to help preserve night vision, blue for if you are having to do medical work. |

They were pretty ubiquitous in the early years of the GWOT. I think it was the late oughts or early teens when Surefire released the M500L with a factory LED. Attached File I have one somewhere. I posted a picture of a Colt with it mounted a few years ago and got called "gramps". |

They're an early GWOT tactical light that works fine if you don't want a railed handguard but still want a solid weapon light. There's definitely a market for them with the retro builders and some KISS carbine builds, and when combined with a carry handle upper and a Redi-Mag you can rock out in style for Y2K! |
