I picked up an old A2 Kitty Kat style upper for 125 bucks. The barrel is marked M1S, so I assume it’s a model 1 upper, or at least their barrel. It was part of a group of similar uppers and has numbers scratched into it like it may have been a police gun, which seems odd. Anyway, what is the correct buffer weight for these? I had reliability issues with a standard carbine weight, but that may have also been the binary trigger I was using. I also had some steel cases get stuck in the chamber, which was probably just me not giving a grimy old upper a good enough cleaning.

I got my 7.5” 5.56 Kitty Cat upper when the AWB ended in 2004 and used the Rock River 9mm buffer, pictured, and it has never missed a beat. I’m not certain about it’s weight but I THINK it is H3ish. Attached File |
