What Aero Precision 16" 556 1-9 Twist Barrel is this? Fluted? If it even is a AP Barrel. I got this complete gun from a guy a few years ago. He said he had ordered from AP as a complete gun. I asked about the Barrel and he said it came with the gun from them. He also said it was accurate and he had shot out 500 - 700 yards with it with a Leupold long range scope pretty tight groups. I read that AP and Ballistic Advantage were possibly together and/or that BA made AP's Barrels? But idk? Know you guys have seen it all and have all the knowledge. Yes thanks both. I saw those AP Fluted ones in 223. Also saw some in 308 and other calibers. The thing is, where the Dimple indentations of the flutes end or start? Mine are more pointed shape, like a knife point, where as the others are more rounded not pointed. I sent AP a email with pics and other info to ask them a few days ago. Still not heard back from them. Word is they may be having some problems as a company right now. But idk if its true or not. I have not heard back from them. Hoping someone here will know something and seen that one Barrel like I have, and post back here. Thanks! |

I agree with you that the fluting is more "pointed" on your barrel than the one I own or is pictured on the Aero site. Reading over my post I see where my statement about "but otherwise appears to be the same" is confusing as I was referring to my barrel looking like the one on Aero's site not yours OP. I tend to think it's not a BA or AP barrel based on the markings alone since mine is marked Aero 223 Wylde. Good luck with your hunt to figure it out. |

I think I may have found it. This maybe it linked below. The only thing is mine is a 1:9 Twist and they list as 1:8. I am going to send them a pic and email to ask? Maybe some other company makes them for them and made the one I have in 1:9 Twist. They claim for what's it worth that it is - Guaranteed to shoot sub-MOA at 100 yards with match ammo. My Brother gave it to me as it came on some AR15 he got a while ago but he knew nothing about it either. It is Lightweight kinda and he said he was surprised the it really good accuracy to his surprise when he shot it. What's are you Guys thoughts about this Compared?
