Hello, Just curious if anyone is running this set up and what your zero is. I've tried to play around with this set up in the chairgun app but I don't see where I can adjust the barrel length in the app. Realistically I'd only use it for 0-300/400, is it worth it just to fiddle around with different zeros until I get one to line up close enough? I'm coming from the ACOG on a 14.5 which has that very specific BDC. |

I saw this link on TFB: Rifle Zero Calc I put in your data and assuming 1.4 optic height, it spit out 40 yd zero for hits within +/- 3 inches, 268 yd MPBR. |

Vortex recommends a 50/200 yard zero using the center dot for point of aim. In most situations this will be pretty close for most uses with an 11.5” barrel. Here is link to the user manual for the scope which has the specific information on the scope. I chrono'd my 11.5 yesterday with X-tac M193 and got an average of 2660, that's probably a decent place to start unless you're using something really hot, PMC can be a little slow. You should use the Geoballistics app as well if you want to get the Vortex reticles.
You should play around with different zeros in the app to decide what you should go with- it probably will NOT be the Vortex recommended zero. For example, I have a Holosun ARO-SPR on mine. The recommended zero for the BDC is 50/200 and that would mean the first dot is 50 yards, 2nd one is 300, 3rd one is 400, 4th one is 500. I only need 400 yards. So I played around with the app and found that 100 yard zero with my 11.5 and stated velocity means the 2nd dot is 200, 3rd, 300, 4th 400- within an acceptable margin of errror (shooting steel out to 400). You'll have to do the same thing in the app, or you can also just enter whatever zero you want and the app will tell you what subtensions the reticle will be- it'll be something hard to remember though. |
