Are the no locking turrets on the Vortex PST 2-10x32 truly an issue as some make them out to be?

Non-locking turrets are not an issue if you are creative. HSGI rebuild kit on an unlocked windage knob.

You can fiddle with it even more to clean it up...

If you're using the scope for hunting, competitions, or similar activities, you'll eventually move a turret accidentally. It won't happen much.

I still use my gen1 PST…
I don’t hunt with it so I never had an issue with turrets moving, that being said the turrets can be zeroed and it’s good practice to check them before engaging the target.

I prefer a locking turret but my Credos and NX8’s don’t have locking turrets and they’ve never accidentally spun either. I do give them a quick visual check as I’m setting up, but I do that either way.

Maybe put a white stripe on the turret as a "witness mark" to quickly ensure they didn't move vs having to read the small numbers.

I had one on a hunting AR along with two Nikons on other hunting rifles that did not have locking turrets. It did not matter if I was climbing into my box blind, getting on and off the quad, moving around at night while predator hunting, they were always moving. I got so sick of it I sold them all and swore off any scope that does not have locking turrets or capped ones.

You could always pick up a vector continental 2-12 with locking turrets instead. I just got one and its pretty nice

Yes. Almost every time I go to use rifle with that optic it’s not centered up.
