Using a rifle-length buffer tube on an AR pistol?

Any technical issues with such a combination? I plan to use one of these:

Any other parts needed than the correct buffer and spring? Not planning to use anything that qualifies as a stock.

if it doesn't cycle the rifle buffer, use a wooded dowel or something as a spacer to run a carbine setup instead.
