Got to ask since your missing the forest through the trees, If the problem the slight nick in finish that touch up with aluminum black on a Q-tip would blacked the nick, and the Casey birch aluminum black is used to touch up other nicks/scratches your going to do to the rifle as well.  |

| I understand that part too…i work hard and have put alot of scuffs and dings into all of my toys and tools. I just look at it like buying a vehicle or anything that costs alot you work hard for over however long…new truck with a chunk out the paint or frame probably not getting grabbed up off the lot, most wouldnt accept that. Idk, i expect more |

Idk, i expect more If you have that high of expectations, you might prefer going into a physical store that sells the products you want, and making your purchases there so you can inspect them before purchase. If you want the "new truck off the lot" experience, then it'll cost a little more, but it is out there to be had. The vast majority of people aren't gonna have an issue with that minor interior ding. It is an imperfection, I'll give you that, but from another perspective, If I were working customer service and got your ticket, regardless of if it were replaced (AGAIN), I'd think you were a bit of a pain in the ass as a customer, given that this won't affect function and you already it had it serviced for a function-affecting issue (the feed ramps). I get the feeling you're not getting the answer you want. |

| Im all for beating my rifle up….myself. All of mine have taken a beating. Just dont want the new one to show up like that. The reason i love geissele though, i reached out and they said either way it shouldn’t have ever left looking like that and said theyre going to fix it up and make it right. Thought that was pretty incredible. |

| Was just wondering what ppl thought. On other forums and areas Ive seen a good handful of both. As a person who dabbles in customer service, hobbies, and other things i wouldn’t think thats a pain, depends on what your buying. Used? Yea sure. Either way geissele got back and told me nothing new should leave like that if its not a blem and said theyd make that right. I also scooped up another setup with a mk8 rail im going to build myself. Was very impressed with their service and thoughts on it. Thats what its all about I think. I think we as consumers, gunsmiths, users, etc, need to set our expectations higher and when we do, we get companies like geissele who seem to strive for perfection. Thats a beautiful thing. Just my outlook on it thank you for yours! |

| Yea idk, different people see it differently i guess. They were great though over there at geissele. Told me theyd never let things leave like that and wanted to make it right either way which was incredible. Will definitely be buying from them more than I already do |

I'd say so on seeing things differently. Should that upper have been in perfect condition? Sure. Was it good of the company to offer to make it right -- heck yeah. That's great customer service. Here's how I see it: How much is it costing to replace that upper? Since the company is covering the replacement, the costs become part of their operating costs, which figure into future product pricing. So, that helps keep prices higher for everyone. Now, if this were any sort of functionality issue or a much more serious blem, I'd want it replaced, too. If you were saying you keep your guns in perfect condition, as they are safe queens, I wouldn't argue against the exchange request, either, as for the goal of your purchase is defeated if it's not in mint condition upon arrival. If anything, why not ask for partial store credit or refund (down to blem pricing and a hair lower for trouble, perhaps), because you'd get more functional product in the end, and the company spends less than they do with shipping costs and processing/handling man hours to process an exchange. You also wouldn't be out the upper for any period of time. You could have had gained more; the company could have spent less. You even would have still gotten to feel "right" or "validated" as they told you you are right. The only thing lost is the opportunity at first ding. To me, that seems like the smart deal to try to strike for all parties. |

| I understand that. From a buisness standpoint too though, (one that actually cares like G$) they will work towards avoiding issues like that and putting more into QC which will all around create better stuff leaving. I would also expect what i pay for with the little i have outside of bills and feeding my family. I think we all should. With everything we make and buy. Strive for perfection, quality, craftsmanship how we used to in America. I think I just see it a different way, doesnt mean anyone is wrong! Some people are ok with mediocrity if it works. Things slip by and things happen as well I understand that. Either way I have a different outlook on things and all my tools and hobby products I received were flawless and i take great care of them even if they are used and abused. And thats ok! I appreciate your outlook man! |

OP- never buy a Colt….you won’t be happy! One reason I don’t bother with some of the more expensive brands on a lot of parts is because they cater a lot to people who worry over this kind of stuff, which costs money, and therefore their parts might cost more than they otherwise should…. I prefer my money to be spent worrying about reliability, not some scratch in a spot nobody will ever see. But you didn’t even get that it sounds like, since the feed ramps were not good initially…. (Apparently- no pics of that). I don’t care if G did offer to make it good- that scratch isn’t worth driving to the post office for me, nor even bothering to touch up the aluminum. Now if the feed ramps were bad- now that shit actually matters… |
