Excited to post  Just completed my first build. Finished the tungsten Cerakote this afternoon and assembled. Deciding on which sights to go with...so add about 3oz. There is a Battlecomp 1.5 on the end and a minimalist stock on the other.

5.2lbs without sights. Funnest gun I own now. Lw contour 16" 300blk barrel Ap customs 15" HG Mag tactical upper Spikes lw NiB boltcarrier Tennessee arms TAC lower MFT minimalist stock. Everything else is generic. I could save some weight in a couple of places(especially muzzle), but I don't think it's necessary. |
| yay, if you can have .22" AR pistols in Cali, I'd suggest building it as a pistol. If it holds together, you can always glue more toilet paper on it for a buffer tube, and try your luck. If it works, maybe you can post it here in the under 6 lb thread. |

The 16 inch gun is essentially the same as the one I am building. The exceptions are it had the following, standard castle nut, psa upper receiver, troy sights, essential arms lower, non micro gas block, moe stock, Hogue grip, core 15 aluminum trigger guard, tac con trigger, dd qd end plate. It had an eotech xps 2 on it and weighed in at 6.7. That makes it about a 6.2 without the eotech. I am changing it to a cmc trigger, v7 castle nut and end plate, mag tac lower, kac rear sight (which is heavier), fab defense dust cover, v7 dust cover door, micro gas block, mft minimalist stock, engage grip, areo upper no fa. my total weight so far is 5.44 lbs. The only things left not weighed are a crush washer and cmc trigger. So it should be under 5.6 when done and 6.1 with an eotech xps2. |

Picked up a Mag Tact upper recently to complete my build and it has performed well its first time out with a few hundred rounds through it. The $54.00 ones above.....I ordered four more. Only hope the uppers find their way out into the marketplace and come down in price one day. The one big blow up thread that was posted up here was an ammo problem that destroyed aluminum and steel parts, not just a magnesium part. |

I got all confused a while back and thought it was a DD, but found the paperwork that it's BCM. It's a 653 clone, so negative on the triangle handguards. I prefer thin, shiny Colt handguards. I paid extra for shiny colts as my aftermarket 6-hole ones had a weird texture. I like it. My original intent was to make it a beater, but now it's got like $1400 into it.
