Here is my Colt HBAR upper with a Harris bipod mounted on the forend with a YHM adaptor. The scope is an old rubber armored Tasco 3x9 with an integral rail mounted on YHM risers. I want to have the FSB removed and a railed gas block with a folding front sight installed. I also want to have the barrel threaded for a flash hider.
For now, the lower is from my CAR SP-1. Eventually this will get it's own dedicated lower receiver:

Got it back and put together today. I am pleased with the dipping service. The upper and fore-end and stock are perfect. The lower has a couple blemishes in it but nothing noticeable except to me and my OCD.

AR#4 is ready to engage the Zombie hoards at extreme range. I wanted a compact AR that could get out to 500 yards and still be easy to pack around all day. In addition, I needed a barrel that resisted POA shift if it got hot. I finished the upper a couple of weeks ago. Assembled the lower today. For the record, I received excellent service from AR Performance. The barrel is an AR Performance 16" 1/8 twist, 5R rifling Wylde chamber midlength. It's .840 under the tube. The barrel is nitro-carburized The gas block is the YHM mini block for those keeping score. The bolt is the heavy-duty 9130 ARP bolt that came matched to the barrel. The tube is a Clark Custom carbon fiber tube. The upper receiver is from Del-Ton The mount is Larue. The scope is the Bushnell Elite 3200 10x. The lower is one of the last Cavalry Arms MKII made before they ceased production of them. The trigger is by ZM  |
