I’d like to preface this with I could simply be an idiot. I have an LMT MRP barrel, I bought this used. While waiting for a form 1, I wanted to make a few changes. First up, gas tube (brt ez tune). The pin popped out easy enough. Getting the gas tube off was painful. This gas tube won’t go on. Neither will the stock one. The hole is clear, the pin fully out, I can slide a punch around, and shining a flashlight doesn’t seem to show any burrs, or obstruction. I’m watching videos and people just slide gas tubes in with ease and align the pin holes. This is anything but. Is it normal to need to a lot of force? I have to be doing something wrong given the stock one don’t want to go on. EDIT: I cleaned the gas block. With the stock gas tube I've found I can get it in and out if I play with the angle, it's still a damn tight fit and takes a lot of force to get it out. The BRT tube seems to be the same diameter (digital calipers) but damn this thing does not want to go in at all. It hits immediate resistance the moment it starts to insert. I'm confident I can force this in, getting it out will be hell. My concern is really, should I do that? Or is something wrong? Everything I've been watching seems to imply a gas tube should easily insert and remove, and this is not that. |
