No cold weather gear was issued until we arrived at ou Camp assigned. Once I arrived to my unit I slept in my issue down sleeping bag, in my wool long johns, in my bunk with two issue wool blankets and a blanket I purchased in the PX. That was still very uncomfortabe from the cold. We were issued wool shirts and pants and other Korean War vintage uniforms. I shared a room with a KATUSA (a Korean soldier who was a coworker). He never slept one night in our room. He had the option to sleep off post. Even he saw it was too cold to live in the barraks! At least the duty building I worked in had heat! I cannot imagine fighting a ground war in the winter in Korea. The Korean soldiers had M1 Garands and a few had M1 Carbine. It would be nice if a semi-auto version could be imported. Never gonna happen though! |
So... I find comfort in the fact that if Trump has to work so hard to go to Heaven, then there is a shit load of Democrats that have no f-cking chance to go anywhere but HELL. Sometimes it is entirely appropriate to kill a fly with a sledge-hammer.

Generally what they do is finish up school then go into military services. You can sign up and go do your thing at 18. Every male is considered recallable. |

I think one thing I'd be interested with is any surplus old rifles they might want to export and sell to the USA. It would be cool if they could just sell the uppers and surplus lower parts. . That would be massively cool. I know a few years ago they dumped their M1 Carbines back into the USA. |
