I went and hung out with my buddy at his father in laws gun shop. His FIL is 84 and still runs the shop on his own. He was a gunsmith for 40 years but doesn’t do smith work any more. He doesn’t have a lot of stock currently and it was mainly some Taurus and Glocks, a few hunting shotguns, and ammo. Couple modern ARs. But he has a ton of “stuff” and he let me rummage around. There were boxes of mags and reloading stuff, grips, scope rings and mounts etc. In the back there’s wall of steel parts drawers with a little bit of everything. Crap tons of springs, drawers for H&R parts, Marlin, Colt, Smith & Wesson, and everything else. Lots of WW2 military parts too. Even drawers for Webley and Spanish pistols. It was like an archeological dig. Cool stuff. I snagged some rando stuff that I found on a casual explore. 4 nylon M1 carbine slings, a Garand sling, an SKS sling, a set of A2 stocks, but with an A1 grip, a SAW style AR grip, two Bushmaster 30rd AR mags, and a Universal Industries 20 rounder with aluminum follower, and a Meprolight M21. I got a very reasonable friends and family price. Doesn’t hurt that he was a detective for the County like I was too, albeit he did it before I was born! Cool thing on the M1 carbine slings: two of them have Korean markings and South Korean mil acceptance stamps. My one M1 was an ex ROK issue one and has Korean rack numbers on the stock and I have a Korean bayonet for it. The sling finishes it off nicely.
