I posted a thread in Lancers forum... maybe they might be interested in coming out with a mag for the Armalite AR-10... I really like the AR-15 mags they make...

There is no patent on the G2 mags that I'm aware of. If someone wants to make polymer mags it would be a completely different design and therefore would not infringe on ArmaLite. (No, I'm not a lawyer, but this seem to be fairly straightforward.) |

I would be interested in hearing Armalite's and/or Magpul's response to this. |

That was the only novel/new part of the assembly.
Anybody ANYBODY can make gen 2 style mags for the AR10. All they have to do is say Armalite and AR10 are trademarks of Armalite blah blah blah... Yes there would need to be a licensing agreement to put the Armalite or AR10 name/logo on the magazines. |

I do not think Lancer has considered .308 mags. With all the new offerings in .308 this year, plus the new 20LR from Magpul, it may be a good year to try a .308 mag. Go to their industry forum and pester them about it.
