So, I just got a Sig Sauer Tango MSR 1-6x24mm, SFP, Illum BDC6 Reticle with mount. My first impression of the scope is that I am pretty impressed. I love that Sig Sauer provides the torque specs on the rings of the cantilever scope base, along with the mounting reference line on the side of the scope. I really wish all scope manufacturers would do the same with their products. This scope has a click value of 1/4 MOA. The minimum eye relief is 3.74 inches and goes up to 3.93 inches. Another nice feature is the Diopter adjustment ring, which makes focusing the lens to your eye very simple. Just aim the riflescope at a light object or wall to maximize the contrast of the reticle. Turn the diopter until the reticle comes into focus. Like I said, easy as pie! This particular rifle scope is rated for the 5.56x45mm Nato rounds. I haven't got it home yet, but I'm looking forward to getting it mounted and going to the range to zero this scope in. I know that Sig Sauer has two different reticles when it comes to these LPVO's, the BDC6 and the Hellfire. What is everyone's opinion on these two reticles? Would you prefer the Hellfire reticle over the BDC6, or vice versa? What are your reasons? |

Congrats on your purchase. I really think the reticle choice depends on your use case. Hellfire for using it like a red dot and the bdc if you want to reach out a little further and 1x isn't as important to you.. |

It doesn't really matter what I'd choose. My needs could be different than yours, or someone's else's. In my opinion, if i were buying a scope in that category, I probably wouldn't pick either. I went with a PA slx nova mil. Most of my shooting is with an 11.5" and within 200 yards. I don't need a bdc for that. I really like that it is rdb -- up close I can focus more on the targets and just pull the trigger when the dot gets on target. I feel on a non rdb scope i tend to be more reticle focused, trying to find / see it in brighter conditions, dark background, etc. That slows me down slightly. But in the end, get whatever you want and spend the time shooting with it. Through trial and error, you'll figure out what suits you best. Enjoy your new scope. |
