Received my shipment of 60 round mags in this afternoon. I don't know if I'll get out to use them this weekend as I am volunteering at the State Fair this weekend. Interesting design. Like some said up above the follower makes you cringe a bit. I guess Magpul spolied me. ![]() |

Once it hits the divider down the middle of the fat part of the mag they stop. I did pull the base off and looked at the internals and I think it could be modified just slightly and it might work. I will try and contact Surefire on Monday and see if I can get another of the divider pieces to play with and see if I can make it work |

I will try and contact Surefire on Monday and see if I can get another of the divider pieces to play with and see if I can make it work Good luck This, I am interested in! I took it back apart and tried playing with it a little to see if it might work. Basicly the middle divider that is not letting the rounds go any further is a T shaped piece of metal that slides in from the bottom just before the baseplate is put on. I was thinking that if that was shortened that would give the fatter rounds the space needed to pass buy it. I tried holding the T shaped piece (by hand) a little lower down (with floorplate removed) and I still could only get 5 rounds in. Now I could have been holding that piece slightly crooked causing it not to work. Or it could be that just the way the mag is designed that piece being any lower will not let the follower go any lower. The way it the mag works is the follower has a ~3/8" long slot in it and when the follower gets down to where the mag widens the T shaped divider piece slides into that slot. Then as more rounds are added they make the 2 stacks inside the mag. That being said it looks like if that divider was shorter the larger rounds would fit by it and the mag could hold 20+ rounds of 458. But if the divider is shortened and does not slide into the slot in the follower when the follower hits where the mag widens the divider will catch the follower beside the slot not allowing it to go any further. It is looking like IMHO that even with modification it is not going to work. As I said if I can get another divider piece from Surefire to play with I will try it but there is no way I am going to try it myself and ruin a $130 mag over a $.25 piece. ETA... I would bet that if it did work on 458 it would then be useless for 223. |

Thanks for the tip on gsladventuregear.com.
I ordered two both with surefire ear plugs and free shipping. ETA: They have 3 left in stock if anyone else is interested. |

Mine LOADS fine Video These are well made IMO and the 60 is not that much bigger than a 30 rounder. BUT on the other have I know there was a lot of R&D put into these and they are trying to recoup some of that $$. BUT $130 is too much IMO. Look at Magpul how much did they put into R&D of the Pmags? and they sell at 1/10TH the price. If Surefire would price these at $40-50 I would think they would sell a LOT! more. But hey they are the ones that made it so they can sell it at whatever price they want. |

No I could not load more than 20 rounds no matter how hard I pushed I was loading by hand This happens every time the follower comes up loaded or not |

Imo They already have by sending me a bad product. I'm not going to cut it up With a bandsaw I'm just disaponted it's not right the first time. I hope this isn't a friendly way of saying only positive reviews are ok here. If and when this is resolved I will give credit where it is due. But for now I'm stuck with something that doesnt do what it was expected too. Maybe mine is a lemon. |

Thank you for contacting SureFire. Attached is a copy of the Return Authorization (RMA) for your 60 round magazine. Please print a copy of the RMA and include it with your magazine. Please ship the magazine to the address listed below, preferably by a trackable method such as UPS or FedEx. SureFire LLC 4750 Longley Lane Suite 202 Reno, NV 89502 Best Regards, I spoke to someone on the phone who confirmed they will not pay for shipping to them only from them "meeting me halfway" of course this thing will be in transit 3 times now 2 of which are on my dime but hey who's counting I sincerely doubt I reassembled it incorrectly but will gladly eat crow if I did. Regardless it didnt work any better before I striped it. |

For those of you who already have mags... Although the mag is easy to assemble and disassemble, it is not as easy as a standard mag. When reassembling the mag, it is possible to "get it wrong" or make a kink in the spring if you aren't paying attention and keeping them to the rear of the mag. The best way to reassemble the mag is to first emplace the 2 column follower, the 2 column follower spring and 4 column follower into the mag body. There is only one way it can go. Now, take the divider/spring guide (looks like a curved popsicle stick with a flat base) and slide it through the slot in the 2 column follower that is at the top of the mag, vic the feed lips.(as if you are loading, or stabbing the follower) You may have to flip it over and look into the bottom of the mag. Ensure that the curve of the divider is going in the same direction of the curve in the mag. Now, you should have the divider flat on it's own base,(on a table or flat surface) going through the 2 column follower from the top of the mag, which in turn will go through the 2 follower spring. You will be able to see it looking down into the bottom of the mag. Now, you have a platform in which to load the two 4 follower springs and the coupler. As the springs are compressed, the divider will remain inside the spring coils and keep them in line at the rear of the mag. Once the springs are compressed, and snapped beneath the base plate tabs, you simply pull the divider out of the top of the follower, and slide it into position at the bottom of the mag, inside the bottom 2 column follower spring, ensuring that the divider's curve is going the same way as the mag's curve. Replace the base plate. Now, load the mag. For the most part, if you have done something wrong, you will know in the first 10 rounds. Test for function. I have disassembled and assembled the mags several times with no issues just "jamming the springs back in." It can certainly be done. However, the above TTP leaves less room for error. If you are anything like me, you don't take you mags apart often anyway. (I spent a few years in the Army, and shoot some. I have only disassembled 1, One, as in a single 30 round mag in my whole life. Just throwing that out there) But, I know guys will take these apart anyway. Let me know if there are any questions to the above TTP. When you guys read it, it may not make sense as I wrote it, and I'll be glad to expound. Matt E is a surefire rep and posted this on Lightfighter. |
