I'm on the waiting list for a FDE SBA5. Anyone else looking forward to this? Shocked to see that no one has posted a review of the black SBA5, which has been out since late March. I guess so, but it's not.much recoil from a 300blk. It's about as close to a stock as you can get while still being a brace. |

I bought one for my 1st pistol ( very late to the party) and broke the plastic detent just putting it on the tube. Contacted SB and they informed me they were already re-vamping with metal instead and they sent me a new one over night. I have not shot with it yet as Im hoping to finish the pistol build this weekend. As for fit, the replacement is super solid and no wiggle at all. The 1st had a good bit of slop. |

Have you tried bending both cups in and then securing the strap? Gives it a nice solid base without modification for storage. Then when you need to unwrap it you can just pull the ends back out to wrap around your forearm. |

Tailhook has its own unique buffer? Correct me if I'm mistaken. My personal preference is a mil-spec tube for consistency. If Magpul (second mechanism?) can lock a stock tight then why is it so difficult on a brace? I wouldn't mind paying a little extra. I ask these questions rhetorically not to anyone in particular  I admit from my military days I'm sensitive to anything that can make extra noise before I'm ready.

Tailhook uses a proprietay tube, that mates with the brace. It is one of the reasons they got a "letter" I also like a 6-pos carbine tube for versatility. My point is, the rattle shouldn't be something that keeps one up at night worrying about. I don't give it a second thought when I am on the range. |

It appears mine is locked in now at the shortest setting. Adjustment lever is hanging loose and the stock won't move. On the upside it's a very snug fit. LOL. It just refuses to extend. Unfortunately, I can't see inside to verify what's broken. |

Hope this isn’t considered late and resurrecting an old thread, but I just got mine and it has an aluminum pin. I messaged them to ask about it and they changed to aluminum some time ago, but steered me to a newish dealer they know had all the latest production. Rattle is minimal, no more or less than any other stock, not sure what that’s about. Buy with confidence, it’s their best brace yet, IMO. |
| The folks at SB Tactical are first class! I bought a used 7.62x39 CZ Ben 2 with a SBA5 on it. The pin sheared after less than 100 rounds. Sent them an email and explained things. Told them it was a used gun with an unknown number of rounds. Asked about buying a part. They sent me a complete brace for free. |

| The sba5 looks like a cross between the 3 and 4 with some styling upgrades. Closer in size to SBA3 with the extended length of the Sba4. I have 1 sba4 that I got just because it's 3/4 to an 1" longer extended than the sba3. Had to have the extra length on a project where I had to cut the buffer and tube down 3/4" to meet some hunting restrictions. Don't know how many sba3s i have. There's 4 leftovers in the parts box. Have 1 of the PDW and 2 of the HBPDW's. Transitioning to the HBPDW's. |

| I had an SBA5 with the metal pin on a 10.5" .50 Beowulf pistol. It did not hold up and the plastic around the metal pin broke and locked up the brace. I called SB Tactical and told them about it, even the caliber of the pistol. They sent me out a new one and even told me to keep the other one for spare parts if needed. I swapped it out for a SBPDW brace I had on a .300 BLK pistol and all is well in the world again. I can't say enough about the CS from SB Tactical. |

I've completed two AR15 pistol builds in the last couple of months. I used SBA5s on both of them. The adjustment lever does sometimes rattle. I hate that. I'm going to use an elastic strap to prevent it. However, I like the 2 braces so much that I just ordered a 3rd brace this morning for a 3rd pistol build. I liked the first two pistols so much that I had to do a 3rd. The first two builds were his & hers with 10.5"barrels. The 3rd pistol will be a 12.5" bullet hose, built to go Brrrrrt with a FRT. I like the SBA5 because it approximates the shape of my LMT SOPMOD and B5 SOPMOD stocks. As long as you mount the SBA5 in your shoulder pocket and do not mount it too high, it is a solid platform. The fact that I bought a 3rd SBA5 after having 2 for a couple of months is my stamp of approval. PSA has the SBA5 on sale for $69.99. $69.99 !!!!! |
