Rifle Case: Pluck&Pull and the Sling, how to best do this?... (full sized 20" NM Service Rifle usage

For a 20" National Match rifle, the sling is a fundamental competition component of the rifle, and it's generally pretty thick and heavy. Upgrading some rifle cases, but kind of trying to work though a best case of "how do I do this..?" Case (got a sweet deal)  Started Pluck and Pull(ing), and here's the rifle in it:   Hmm... The sling...  It kind of should work like that - I guess. But I have a guess that upper hook is going to scratch up the gun pretty good like that. since a rifle match usually ends with the sling detached from the back of the rifle- I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world to just leave it detached, and maybe roll it up like this, when done with the prone shooting...  I'm curious if others have trod this path, and what you came up with. Trying to get it finalized before I lock the foam down with the Super77 and the PastiDip. |

I have a quad-rail and UBR stock, so my sling is on QD swivels. It gets detached, folded, and cased as shown |
