Formally shiny, now all black gas tube did its job.....and is giving you as clear a warning as you could imagine. 5.56 Super Safety mag dumps out of a 7.5" BCA side charging upper with BCA bolt. Gas tube could be hitting something AND the port pressure (and heat) is way too high. |

Don't ask me, I don't know. It's a lot of heat/pressure.. if you watch meltdown videos they last for more rounds but I don't think I've seen one with a configuration like yours with pistol length gas, heavy barrel, wood handguard, budget brand.. This forum doesn't get a lot of traffic for some reason. |

That is a really neat looking gun. Quite unique. Just an FYI: I have a friend that has a PSA Marauder, which is a 7" barrel and an FRT Trigger. I have watched him do multiple mag dumps, multiple times and he has never had problem with the gas tube or any other malfunction. I was wondering if the bolt carrier was hitting the gas tube improperly? Looking at the upper receiver, I don't see the mark that tells you where your gas tube should end. Maybe the gas tube is a fraction too long for that receiver setup? I am going to keep an eye on this thread to see what you find out. Good luck. Edit for a question: It's hard to tell in the pictures, but does the gas tube look like it melted in half or broke in half? |
