I am putting together a suppressed 16 inch .350 Legend AR for Ohio deer hunting and would like some real world feedback from people who have actually built reliable guns. Current setup: BCM M4 upper Bootleg adjustable BCG Griffin Plan A mount Griffin Sportsman UL 36 Dedicated .350 Legend mags Primary use is suppressed deer hunting inside normal straight wall distances Main barrels I am considering: Wilson Combat 16 inch, 1:15, 5/8x24 CMMG 16.1 inch, 1:16, 1/2x28 BCA 16 inch, 1:16, 5/8x24 I am excluding Faxon based on the requirement for an XL upper in order for it to feed properly. I know BCA is the cheap option, but some folks seem pleasantly surprised and I’d only be using the barrel and not their other inferior parts. I know .350 Legend ARs can be finicky, so I am mostly looking for actual function reports, not just spec sheet opinions. A few things I am trying to sort out: 1. Any feeding issues with Wilson or CMMG in a standard M4 upper? 2. Has anyone run the CMMG suppressed with the 1/2x28 threads? 3. For BCA owners, did your barrel run reliably, or did it need feed ramp, chamber, gas, or mag work? 4. What mags have been most reliable for you? 5. What hunting ammo has fed best, especially in the 165 to 180 grain range? I am not trying to build a bench rifle. I just want a reliable suppressed hunting upper that feeds consistently and groups well enough for deer. First hand experience is appreciated. |

I have an ultimate poverty pony 350 L built on an Anderson lower with a 16" side charging BCA upper topped with a SIG Bravo 3. With CMMG's 350 L specific mags it has been 100% reliable. As you said, it's not a bench gun, but with the Winchester 150 grain Xtreme Tips, it'll hover in the MOA realm at 100 yards off the bench. The BCA upper uses the standard M4 feed ramps, so only the conical bullets found in most of the commercial ammo will feed. I tried some of the Browning 124 grain FMJ rounds for plinking, but they use round nose bullets and the feed ramps don't like them, it'll jamb them up every time. |

I have 2 350 legends. -First one was home built with whatever various parts I had and used a cmmg barrel. I used a bowers 50 suppressor on it for hog hunting. I really liked the 180gr federal ammo. It absolutely slayed the hogs. -second one was for my son to go hog hunting with me. He was cheap and bought the bca upper. Using the same 180gr ammo, it would t feed. Polished the ramp and still would feed worth a damn. Replaced it with a cmmg barrel and hasn’t had an issue since. -I used cmmg/Duramag mags. Hope that helps. |
| I am running a 16” cmmg barrel and cmmg mags in my home built upper With no problems. The only issue I had was with some ammo being over pressure. I sent it back to the manufacturer and they verified it was the ammo and sent me 5 boxes to replace the one I sent them! I run it with the 46 hybrid on a asr mount that I also run on my 450 bushmaster ruger American |

I have zero issue with the 1/2-28 threads. I mentioned before I was using a bowers 50 can on it. I’ve yet to use it but will be installing an ASR mount for use with an omega 36. I Also use whatever cheap upper that was available. Where is Ohio are you? DM me if you’d like. If close you could check mine out. |

I run an 18" BA SPR Hanson barrel on a BCM receiver. Toolcraft bolt. Aero 9mm A2 style flash hider. RRA 2-stage trigger. Standard carbine buffer. Zeroed it before deer season, but haven't done much accuracy testing. I put a cheap 4x scope on it for deer season, then bought a Sig Tango MSR 1-6 for it around Christmas time |
| I bought into 450 bushmaster. But Vortex has a great video comparing 450 bushmaster and 350 legend. Kind of wish I had bought a 350 legend now over the Bushmaster. On a side note a hunting buddy has an AR in 350 Legend. It shoots great and has taken about 4 deer and 20 hogs. |

I’ve had all the barrels listed here and use Faxon for the 3 that I’ve kept. A 12.5, a 16, and a 20. No problems and excellent accuracy. I used Cross Machine slick side uppers for the 12 and 16 because I had them. The 20 is in a standard, probably Anderson, upper. I like the balance of the Faxon barrels and how they contribute to a walk all day hunting rifle. I used some lightweight parts I had to keep the weight down and matched the scopes to the guns purpose. Leupold 1-4, Leupold VXR 2-7 and Leupold 3-9 on the 20 inch. I don’t hunt suppressed but none of these guns have had anything extra done to get them to work properly. |

Awesome, thanks everyone for the feedback. I ended up with a Faxon 16” barrel thanks to a member here. They seem to have the most consistent positive feedback based on the amount of reading and reviews. Im excited to get this together for the upcoming season. Appreciate all of the great responses! |

I used an Aero complete upper on a PSA complete lower. Duramags and a B&T supressor. Had some reliability issues with certain ammunition. Upgrading to an H2 buffer solved the problem. I’ve killed a couple dozen deer with it. All copper hollow points like Barnes or Bear Creek performed the best. Subsonics worked okay out to 75-yards. No blood trails at all with Winchester subs. Hornady subs left decent blood trails. |
