When I first got my Ruger SR762 from GunBroker it didn't have any side rails. I then found out Ruger didn't have any more support for these rifles and all the parts that were previously available were sold out. So after doing some research I found that the Canadian Dlask Corporation had the rails I needed. However, when I got my rails I found that they only had 4 counter sunk holes in them and the SR762 handguard had 5 threaded holes. I'm a retired tool & diemaker and I have a lathe and milling machine set up in my shop so this was no problem. Here's my SR762 the way it originally came from GunBroker minus the sling loop.  " />

So I had to lay out the new holes by installing transfer screws in the 5th hole on the rifle's handguard and then drilling out the final hole from the inside of the rail and then counter sinking the holes from the outside. You could see the aluminum machine marks left by the countersink around the socket head flathead screws so I cheated and blacked them in with a magic marker. So here's the rifle after the machining ops were completed and the rails installed.

Here's my rifle after the rails and covers were installed. It has an aftermarket stock on it which I haven't identified. Apparently it was installed by the previous owner of my rifle. Almost every picture on Web I've seen of Ruger SR762s have the M4 style collapsible stock. If anyone can Identify it please let me know. I'm not going to switch it out because I prefer the solid stocks. If it had come with the M4 style stock I would probably have switched it out for an M16A2 stock or a Boyd's wooden stock.

I forgot to mention that Dlask is out of business so if anyone else wants these rails he [or she] is going to have find another source. Here's a pic I downloaded off the Web of a Ruger SR762. It of course has the M4 style collapsible stock and apparently 3 of the handguard covers which came with my rifle.
